Super 8 Convention?
MATTIAS---Cory Ryan handles that part of it for Flicker Austin. Just ask her about it in an email to flicker@flickeraustin.com. She'll be able to tell you exactly what to do. What's the name of your film?

Super 8 Convention?
MATTIAS---I just now saw your post above. Send your film to our Flicker Festival here in Austin. There's no entry fee and we'd love to screen it. Our next screening will be the second week of September. I've been part of the Flicker group here for two years and it's well attended and great fun. Go t...

Super 8 Convention?
Last year I helped out with the Cinemaker International Super 8 Film Festival, but at a 'grunt' level, helping set up the big screen on the shore of Lake Austin, taking tickets at screenings, and don't remember any details concerning entry fees, etc. Cinemaker is partially funded by the City of Aust...

Super 8 Convention?
Andreas had a great idea...SUPER 8 MOTELS. There are three of them here in Austin, two near the downtown area and the Alamo Drafthouse (2-3 miles). Over the years I've stayed in all of them, and they're just fine---unless one thinks of oneself as a big star. If they knew when and how many to plan on...

I'm fifty-six and kind of enjoying the experience of my atoms separating as I move back toward formlessness...yet keep spinning the bs as I did in my teens....

I'm a regular volunteer with Flicker here in Austin, and see no problem with the Pro8 guys. At our screenings, along with projecting film, we also project vhs copies. The only stipulations are that the movie originates on film and runs less than 15 minutes. Also, there is no entry fee. We screen 6 t...

What is with this? I'm positive I logged in for the post second above this one....the one about having one-day film processing at a film fest/convention/trade show being a priority...yet, it shows me to be a guest. This has happened several times. I don't understand it....and just when I thought I w...

And something else....I helped man the Flicker Film Festival booth for two days at this year's SXSW trade show. I was surprised to see how much attention our little Flicker Film booth got right in the midst of all the high tech video booths. I'm not kidding, we were just running a compilation tape o...
