Very few theatres have 70mm projectors, and fewer with maintained ones.

Fomapan liked the old reversal bleach. If you use that instead of the new Kodak chemistry, you can even push it 2 stops. Would love to find a lab that could still do that. If anyone has info, please let me know. I used to use that film all the time in my Canon DS8 for night shots at parties. Haven't ...

Is that Ekta P1600 an old film? I've never seen it at any retailer I frequent either in 'real life' or online.

I don't see much point in a daylight balanced super 8 stock faster than 100ASA...but a tungsten stock rated somewhere between 200 and 400ASA would be great.

Surely anything rated faster ...

Each time I hear about these kind of things (remember, in the U.S. it's now illegal to film on Federal property, although luckily it's still okay in most places) I think to myself, "now we can only remember (or misremember) the events of our lives in our heads"....or are we going to start banning ...

Fujinon 5.5mm Wide Angle Lens

Just saw this auction which has the rare 5.5mm C mount lens for Single-8 (and presumably Super 8). They don't come around too often:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150084390194&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1 . I'm not sure, but I don't think there are any other 5.5mm multi-coats for ...

Shortest remaining lifespan:
Single-8 - Fuji has not promised availability forever. Their recent announcement suggests they will stop making the format within the next five years. Not truly compatible with widescreen TV and looks overly soft in HD. Extremely limited stock availability.

Unknown ...

I can't remember his name, but there's a guy in Canada with a company that manufactures Super 16 projectors, including some with endless loop capabilities, for museum installation. He will rent them too. I hope someone here can add the name and contact information.

I think that's their risk. Historically, it's been important for movie theatres to differentiate themselves from television to remain successful.

Could be the generation thats coming up has never actually seen film. I constantly see people who were coming out here to shoot for video or indie movies who are obviously shooting with a video camera refer to what they're doing as filming . They're all very young.

Filming does sound a lot ...
