I just got the Super 16 gate, and hope to install it soon, along with taking out the loop guides. Forming the loops by hand has got to be better than using the loop guide.

I just got back my rank transfer of some 16mm footage from a concert.

Shot on Fuji F-500 at F 4.0 developed most rolls normal. During part of the show, the main white lights went down, we pushed 1 stop. Looked ok
a little dark, I think we opened up to an F 2.8

Battery belts can cost a bundel, I run my Arri 35-A of a DeWalt battery.

The battery and charger did not cost over $120.00, it's a 12 volt.
Find out what type of battery will work and what pins you need to get
your camera running.

Just make sure you have the right (voltage) type of battery and ...

I had a similar problem with the VX1000, but with Avid xpress dv on my PC.
Everytime I tried to digitise using the VX1000 on my computer, it hangs. Luckily I have another camcorder, a Sony TRV 9 and it works great. So, I suspect the older firewire interface is at fault on my VX1000. I wonder if the ...

Help! Could not get rank transfer into computer??

I just got a Mini DV tape back from being ranked and I can't get the video signal into my computer via my fire wire.

I can use the same camcorder to play back the tape and dub it to S-VHS or VHS via an S-VHS cable.

I can play pre existing tapes (both from Rank transfer and tapes made on this ...

Do you know the F16 rule....From still photography?

The rule is this: F16= one /over the film speed for bright sunny days.
The one part becomes the shutter speed. I'm not sure of your films
ASA / ISO (SPEED) but It would become the bottom number.

Let's give this a try with everybody favorite ...

that's a joke, right? making fun of us europeans' prejudice that americans are ignorant?

I am amazed you would think thee was more to my question than what was asked. There is simply no subtext, no alterer motives and no anti-European bias.

There are quite a few people on this board who shoot in 16, like myself and Nigel, and Roger Evens, Scott Spears. Some even have shot in 35 for that mater.

I like this board and the other super 8 boards since they cater to low budget filmmakers from beginners on up. Most all of us, are on a tight ...

If they did, I don't think it was sold in the states. The 320 film I liked, was much to granney to work in super 8, for general work.

I liked the look of Agfa 320 motion picture film.

"Memphis Bell," was shot on this stock, the red's browns and flesh tones always looked good.

The film was low contrast and favored the pastels, blue sky's were a little more washed out than what I would like to see.

All and all a wonderful ...

Ok , this first idea would not work with your tight deadline and last minute shoot. Get a Film permit! Find someone in film school and make it a student shoot, it will cost less.

Or.....go low teck, Less is More as to take less equipment and look like a tourist!

Try, shooting the background and ...
