Reg 8 film stock?

Post by Super8rules »

Anyone else besides Chambless selling regular 8 film stock for old Brownie movie cameras?

I am in preproduction on a short film about James Dean and I want to shoot some footage on my old Brownie. I'm also shooting on super8, but I want to give the old Brownie a whirl.

Thanks

Everybody, including Chambless, gets it from John Schwind of International Film. You will probably get a better price directly from John. Besides that, Chambless is a crook!

Dwayne's won't process black and white movie. You can also buy regular 8 stock from Dwayne's. They sell Ektachrome 100D as regular 8. Great stuff. I send it right back to them for processing.
Pull that old movie camera out of the closet! I'm sure it's hungry for some film!

There really are some great old cameras that take standard 8. I was given a great Keystone that I love to shoot with! It is so much fun not having to worry about putting batteries in the camera.

Don't forget the Fomapan R100 B&W reversal film. Its not from John Schwind.

That's not a criticism of John's filmstock, it is great. Just another type of film is out there.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Dwayne's has sold out of K40 - JavaCycles might have some. I bought Jim Philips last can of Cinechrome. There is little Standard8 Kodachrome film appearing on UK eBay, but a fair bit of K II and Super8 Kodachrome. It's coming to the end of this stock. Plenty of Ektachrome though!

That's hilarious. I met him at a camera show and I have to say that he's an ASS too. I asked him a few questions about some 16mm cameras and said I was an idiot for not doing what he told me to do... stick with Super 8. He was actually hostile about my questions.
