cross-processing means, literally, processing something in the wrong chemistry, typically for an effect. An example would be in processing E-6 film in C-41 chemistry, in effect turning the slide film into a negative film. Results tend to be unpredictable -- but that's all part of the charm of x-pro. I almost always overexpose my cross-processed rolls by one stop. I'm excited to try x-pro w/ super 8 and 16mm.
As I understand it, the way to simulate the ECN-2 negative process for movie film is to use C-41 developer in conjuction with the Bleach and Fix from the E-6 process. I've yet to try it though...

fantastic. i plan to do that for a short i'm shooting in october, or possible using 16mm 100d the same way. i've cross processed a lot of 100vs stills and they look exactly like i want the short to look. i hope you got some results before i'm ready to go. would be great to see.
