What happened to Super8 Man???
Did we piss him off on that whole cartridge notch thing? What happened?? Or has he been detained somehow under the patriot act? He's usually a good sport and seems like a stand up guy. I wonder who or what caused him to bail like that.
100D and Vision 3 please
Yeah, I was just looking back over all of his last posts-all deleted, and I imagine (although my laziness prohibits me from checking) that the 'notcho' page on his website is also gone. I really don't know what happened-were some harsh words exchanged somewhere, only now to be replaced by a 'deleted'?
If he has left, then this is truly a sad state of affairs. I stumbled upon his webpage way back when it changed your mouse pointer into that crazy logo-it was his info and that on the metadirectory that really got me into super 8. I liked being able to type 'super8mm' into google to know who my daddy was-now, its like my daddy doesn't love me anymore.
Say it isn't so, Super8man.

According to his profile he is a "deleted member please".
Very sad if he really has left this forum...
C´mon, come back, we need you! {|=
I didn´t follow the notch thing at all, so I have missed whatever it was that made him leave.

I have simply decided to change my tack (as in sailing) for a while.
I am spending more time on this hobby:
Getting back to my roots as it were.
Thanks guys...no, my filmshooting account is still intact. Email me through my website if you want to learn about by new "old" hobby!
I will also continue to entertain all super 8 questions through email directly...it works better that way. And I think I may fire up the Zeiss GS8 today...sorry about my profile, I'll fix it.
Cheers,
mike

I actually knew he was into slotcars, and I must say the background looks really realistic. Cool.Is it obvious to all that Super-8 man's photo is of minatures? I didn't notice that they were until a second viewing. icon_eek.gif

I asked Super 8 Man about lubrication for my camera a few weeks ago and he suggested slot car oil. That was my first impression that he was into this hobby.
I knew they were minitaures when I noticed the metal slot strip down the center of each lane. The miniature set is so nice...maybe Super 8 Man should freelance as a designer for some stop-animation films!! Who's with me?

I was about to respond that everything is CG these days, but I saw Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on the weekend, and they had a hilarious stop-action sequence in which everyone is turned into animated wool puppets.sooper8fan wrote:...maybe Super 8 Man should freelance as a designer for some stop-animation films!!
