Fuji Velvia 50D

Post by superadio »

Hi. I just found out that Fuji velvia 50D is avaliable in standard 8. But i have an old camera that maybe would overexpose this film on a bright day. What filter can I use, and how to know adjustement on my camera after put filter on.
- And who can process this film? Dwayne`s? Thanks for your attention

This film is processed in the normal E-6 process, same as Ektachrome's, so any lab that could do colour reversal will be able to process it.

You need a ND filter to reduce light, anyway ASA 50 is not that much... I do normally shoot ASA 100 in Double8 without problem (although very closed diaphragm).

This is not a good film for Double8... it's reperforated from bigger formats ad tends to be very jittery. Many people have had bad experiences in old cameras.

I can second that - I had it in three different cameras and it came out jittery from all three ...

Anyone that does "e6" can process this film, e.g.

GB: Leo Stehlik
NL: super8.nl
D: Andec, Kahl
F: CineDia
USA: Dwayne's, Pro8mm, ...
Etc. pp.
This space was left intenionally blank.

I have shot two rolls of Velvia, and I don't plan on shooting any more. I think you're much better off with Kodak's 100D. In many respects, 100D is better than Kodachrome, and I'm not the only person with that opinion. Wish you the best with your reg-8 filming. Brad M.

Honestly, I think even KAHL UT18 (Agfa RSXII) is better than Velvia for regular 8. Less jittery, and more of a companion to E100D than competition.

Ektachrome 100D in 16mm is amazing when projected. Super accurate colors.

Totally- there is nothing like projected 16mm 100D. When it comes to S8, I compared it side by side to Velvia a few years ago. They look very much alike with a few subtle differences in color hues, and an extra stop with 100D. Now that Kodak is carting 100D, I wouldn't bother with the 150% extra cost of Velvia.

and http://www.reveladoreversible.webs.com in Spain... just try and compare. Processes anything, not only E-6, even "pushes" at the same price.
