Avatar wars...
OK, I changed mine...following Lunar's footsteps (even if they were made in an Area 51 warehouse).
Anyone, anyone?
Oh, here's the official definition:
Among people working on virtual reality and cyberspace interfaces, an avatar is an icon or representation of a user in a shared virtual reality.
scary...simply scary.

My avatar started out as a sketch I scanned into my computer and digitally inked in Corel Draw. The colors were added with Paint Shop Pro. I also used Paint Shop Pro to resize the image using the "Smart Resize" function which anti-aliases the edges to smooth them out. I make several different sizes: 100 by 100 pixels, 80 by 80 pixels and 60 by 60 pixels for the different forums I use it on.

As long as the size is right, anything with the proper image extension will work, animated gifs included. If you have an image you want to use, just be sure to crop the image first before you resize the file to match the requirements.Avatar Control Panel Displays a small graphic image in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, a height no greater than 80 pixels and a file size no more than 29kB.

I think you, like me, will get lost in this site man.
Right click any image you see, make sure you resize it to 80x80 (or find one that size or smaller). Save to your PC.
Then, under profile, browse to where you saved the image and hit upload.
Alternatively, right click on the image on any website, select properties. Copy the source location and then paste that into your profile UPLOAD area on this site.
Enjoy.
