2017 BLUECAT SCREENPLAY COMPETITION: CALL FOR ENTRIES
The BlueCat Screenplay Competition, now in its 19th year, is accepting submissions for its 2017 competition.
Founded by award winning writer/director Gordy Hoffman in 1998, the BlueCat Screenplay Competition’s passionate commitment to develop and discover the unknown screenwriter continues to define our work today, becoming one of the largest and most prestigious screenplay competitions in the world.
BlueCat’s Winners and Finalists have been signed by major talent agencies like UTA, CAA and WME, sold their work to studios like Warner Bros., Paramount and Universal, and won major awards at the Sundance, Berlin and Tribeca Film Festivals, all after being discovered by and winning BlueCat.
NOW ACCEPTING TV PILOTS
Along with accepting feature screenplays and short scripts, BlueCat will now be accepting television pilot scripts.
WRITTEN FEEDBACK TO ALL ENTRANTS
BlueCat remains committed to the undiscovered writer, and will continue its tradition of providing written analysis on every script submitted.
NEW INTERNATIONAL PRIZE
A new international award, the Fellini Award, will be given to the best feature screenplay by a writer living outside the U.S.
AWARDS
Feature Screenplay Winner $10,000. Four Feature Finalists will receive $1000 each.
Short Script Winner $5,000. Four Shorts Finalists will receive $500 each.
Pilot Winner $5,000. Four Pilot Finalists will receive $500 each.
The Fellini Award will be awarded to the Best Feature Screenplay of the 2017 Competition written by screenwriter residing outside the USA and will receive $1000.
DEADLINES
Regular Deadline: June 1st, 2017. Feature Screenplay $55, Short Script $45, Pilot $50.
Final Deadline: June 26th, 2017. Feature Screenplay $60, Short Script $50, Pilot $55.
