zenith quartz 1x8c-2 light aberration

Hi

I've been shooting with a number of these cameras recently and have found that footage from more than one of them is yielding images with an odd light effect. The centre of the image is exposed perfectly while the left and right hand-side are under-exposed...essentially a hotspot, but one that runs vertically from the top to the bottom of the frame.

I haven't subsequently tested the cameras to find out whether this issue is associated with a specific f-stop, and before I do so, has anyone else had this issue or have any insight as to why it might be occurring?

Could it be something to do with the way the aperture leaves are designed on this model?
