Films from around the world.
Hello-
Is there any way to get another one of the projects going again that was done a couple of years ago with people all over the world shooting a roll of super 8 all on the same day? I would love to participate! Thanks-Patrick

Sounds interesting. What was the previous project like?

I'm interested in a project like that.

It was done in 2003. You can see it here. http://www.filmshooting.com/index.php?o ... Itemid=105

Yes, we just have to get the people together!
I am personally not so keen on the time lapse, but that's only my opinion. I'm sure everybody knows a little story about the place he/she lives in that can be told to the others via this medium.

I don't care for the timelap either. I'm not sure how to post a video on here yet, but if we got enough people willing to do this and they all send me their movie on a DVD or send me the unprocessed film with the processing cost and shipping back to you and I will put it up here....or something like that.

Re: Films from around the world.
I think you have to give it a theme, something that all the contributions can go with, even accounting them being from different corners of the world; in the end it has to be cut into an interesting short film. Imagine 20 people take part - if you had to put their whole films one after the other you'd end up with more than one hour!
I wouldn't have a problem to send the developed film to you or any other person who is willed to do the work of cutting.

The exaple of the one in 2003 didn't have much of a theme. Maybe we could do....my city or town kind of thing so you can take a movie all aroud where you live.

Re: Films from around the world.
Sure. I was just thinking that there might be the danger of people filming static objects. That's what also got me a bit with the time lapse: it is kind of static - yes, the clouds and probably people are moving, but within a static frame and often without details and maybe impersonal. I find filming so exciting because it can follow, it can capture the change of a situation or it can get the swing of a mood, of an facial expression. And to make it more exciting: you never know, will you get it on your film or not?
Well, maybe I'm making things too complecated, but surely it doesn't hurt if there is a bit of a discussing before a project comes to its start.

Ok. what about June 01 as a starting date?
One day of your place you live and I'm thinking about to film people or any movement, because I agree with the idea that static things could be boring (although I like filming statues but I always move the camera - now i want to film people).

Hi Superbus! The first idea of Ektagraphic was that all people shoot on the same day. I guess you are thinking of one day, but any day. 1st of June as a starting date is fine - we should also give it an ending date, like 31st of August?

I think we need to find some kind of a connection between the different films. ther same day filming could be a connection. A common theme could be too...

Re: Films from around the world.
Here are my suggestions.... just suggestions:
A fixed sunday
A fixed weekend with my pet
Weekend afternoon
A timelapse office
or maybe even
A sweet day with lover
just need to pick a subject / theme easy to shoot because not everybody has expensive cameras... easy to shoot but need to be meaningful... not snap shots
