Shark movie with amazing special effects

This is a short clip from a 2002 film about a prehistoric species of giant shark known as a Megalodon which is related to today's great white. Somehow, this ancient beast has survived and is wreaking havoc in today's world. The special effects in this movie had me speechless.....

It gets me so irritated how they spend so much money on special effects and no money on the story anymore. *wink*

this movie looks like it was inspired by an novel which came out in the '90s called MEG. Steve Alten is the author, and has written two sequels to it, and they are really pretty good. There has been effort put into getting a big budget movie made based on the novel, but so far it has not yet happened.
