Spielberg: "On The Lot" reality show

Had heard of rumors of this show a while back, but I guess it's finally happening. Sounds an awful lot like Project Greenlight, not sure what the major difference is: On The Lot

What are your thoughts? Expectations? Predictions?

I was checking out some of the clips on the website and I wasn't real impressed...I got quite bored with many of them. But I don't think those are the actual contestants...just people who logged in and submitted...sort of like a youtube thing. Anyway, just thought I'd share this with you guys!

Folks at dvxuser.com have been discussing this show at length. I don't know. Something about it doesn't feel right to me. Maybe it's that a movie to be successful in this kind of competition will probably need to appeal to the lowest common denominator--a lot of eye candy, MTV-style editing, maybe a dose of violence. Afterall, the "people" will be selecting the winner. No thanks.

yeah....i'm not really feeling it. On the show's website, there's a video clip showing Spielberg and Burnett talking about the show and how it will be great and blah blah blah....but they don't seem sincere....it almost seems like their hearts aren't even in it, like they don't really believe in it themselves. It also sounds like what they're saying is very scripted.

HAHA I actually worked on one of those. Cant say that I know much about the whole contest though. I was the sound mixer for the short...but not the interview at the beginning. Here is a link if you want to check it out.
