For Regular8 I use a Bolex B8L with a Pan-Cinor zoom reflex added,and for Super8 the tidy Quartz zoom.Hardly know you have got them.

Funny. I've been thinking about that recently but I shoot in NYC on the streets and haven't gotten too many looks. Still I worry about it with all the rediculous paranoia. I'll keep shooting until they arrest me!

A Bolex or Bell and Howell without a zoom, a two in single lens set up is best and is about the same size as a modern digital camcorder. Older zoom lens do tend to be a bit big and in the street I would think the fixed wide angle, or standard lens is all you really need.
