Could be wrong, but I think both of the cameras you mention employ pull-down claw action wherein the claw is retracted via a rotating cam, as opposed to being pushed back by the film perf edge [on the way "back up"]. I bet this design goes a long way to achieveing image stability, though other variables are involved...

well, it's still manual but it takes place directly on the timeline. select the frame you want to paint, draw a line over the hair or dust, done.

by default it clones the same area from the previous frame but you can also choose the next, and add an offset if the frame is in motion. and due to popular demand i'm working on a new version where you can select an area in the current frame to clone from.

Thanks Scott. I done gone and read the whole thread. When I knock something off, it's for personal use only. It was an idle question anyhow, since I don't suffer from any registration issues. I'm using Nizo S800, and Nikon Super Zoom 8. I guess they're both working well for now...
