Kodachrome sound carts fetch a fancy price
Seems like top dollar to me, anyway.
Super 8mm Sound Movie Film Kodachrome 40
Two K40 sound carts with expire date 1999, $135.50.
I was going to bid until it went over $60. I don't have any strong desire to shoot sound film; I just wanted to try it for the experience. I have two sound cameras that have never seen a sound cart since I bought them.

Hmm... I got quite a few myself, both Kodachrome and Ektachrome (kept in a freezer)....
eBay is tempting....

I agree, when I first started out I couldn't believe how much of a challenge it was to think up a story told solely through its images. The shock was that I have shot quite a few silent video shoots and now I actually have a great reason not to and had to think up more material.I personally prefer the challenge of shooting a film without dialogue
Well is there much a collector market for sealed S8 film? The magnetic
striped film is quite handy and all but buying a few rolls of this to make
a film sure gets expensive. I think it would be cheaper to just crystal
sync your camera. You could always sell the camera later to recoup
the investment.

Re: Kodachrome sound carts fetch a fancy price
About a year ago I sold a bunch of K-40 sound carts on ebay. I sold maybe 10 or 12. I was afraid they would turn purple & I did not want to take any chances. The buyer emailed me months later. He had shot all but two carts, and all came out great except one.
Just my luck. Gez!.....
