sure, it's still coded, even though not compressed. what the codec does it translating between the native data format and whatever format the nle or player requests. it doesn't necessarily involve compression.
(the color channel is compressed in a way since it's sampled at half the resolution, which is what 4:2:0 means as opposed to 4:4:4, but that's usually not what we mean by compression)
Well, I still don't know why Dodcap yielded the same thing in uncompressed mode. On my system, when I use uncompressed, I get a file that is labeled with "no compression."
In any case, it sounds like your best bet here is HuffYUV, since its quality is equivalent to the best your card can produce, and it gives a decent amount of compression.
