Wolfen colour neg film from Orwo

Post by Andreas Wideroe »

Hi,
Anyone experimented with the new Wolfen film from Orwo? What I see online is a beauiful color negative film with a lovely warm "brownish tint" to it.

I know Wittner have made super8 carts with the film which is great. 16mm and 35mm are available directly from Orwo also it seem.

Hi!

There was a Super 8 Winter Competition - published by the Super 8 Magazine www.mysuper8.net. All films were shot on Wolfen Color 400 (notched as 250D by Wittner). The first two results are online:

Ah, very cool. Thanks for posting. :)

(Infact Sven's film actually showed up this morning on my Facebook or Instagram feed.)

I like the look of the Wolfen films.

Would be nice to know what cameras were used for the different films.

I notice several of the films seems overexposed, burnt out whites. Guessing notching/automatic iso rather than overexposed during scanning.

thanks for posting.

Hi!
When working with the Ektachrome 100D outdoors on a sunny day, then the needle is usually beyond f16. And e.g. my Elmo Super 110 can’t close the iris beyond f22. Hence, even with only 100D you’re close to overexposure without an ND filter. Hence it’s safe to assume that any 250D outdoors without ND filter would be „overkill“ and cannot be compensated by the camera.
