I love old tech and new tech. I use iphones and modern digital cameras when filming all the time, but there is nothing like the feeling of shooting real film and with a mechanical camera. Using a lightmeter to control the light and actually think more carefully about each shot. You only have a few minutes of possible footage on each cartridge. Then the excitement when sending the films off to processing and waiting for the results. It's a special thing and can give you some fantastic images that personally I don't think the retro-filters on phones/computers can fully mimic. It's about the texture, emotions etc.quantumreverberation wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 1:09 am The silver boxy camera used on Globe Trekker is a BRAUN NIZO 801 MACRO Super 8.
About $250 on ebay as of early 2018.
Very cool looking camera but, really, why waste money on old technology when new technology can duplicate the retro super 8 film look!
Try it and see if you like it! I know I do. ;)
