They should just get the recipe for 100D and start making reversal S8 ASAP because that's what people want and it will sell.

Well yes,its good idea, but why would Kodak hand that over to them? If Kodak is going to hand something like that over then Kodak will want to know that they will make money from such an arrangement and that it wont be a shortlived mistake.Kodak may be pretty cautious in selling IP as apparently one of the main reasons it went into bankruptcy was because it bungled the commercialising of a lot of its non film IP.

But then again if Kodak carried out your idea and Ferrania made a success of it then that would show that people at Kodak had made a mistake and that may be hard for them to accept unless the people who made that decision have moved on because there is new management at the top of Kodak.

Why not? Because one man's trash is another man's treasure. Kodak doesn't even want to be in the film business anymore period, let alone hold onto any possibility of resurrecting reversal film. They might be difficult about it at first but there is really no argument on their part to resist a fair brow beating out of their discarded reversal technology at a fair price.

I've had the very same thought about 100D. Point in fact the only reason Kodak is still alive is by selling patents and I.P. S000.... Selling the formulates for 100D and any other film they no longer have interest in manufacturing is not out of the realm of possibility.

Well, the grain isn't too bad, but it seems to have a pretty solid magenta shift. Is the shaking due to bad registration in the camera or and issue with transfer?

Thanks!
I´m new in motion film but I´m prity sure that the shaking is becaus of my stripe holder to my scaner. I´m working on a beter one.
Have not loked at it with a projector yet.
There was a problem in the end that made the camera stop running. Thats way some shots are done a bit to short and some twice.

Apparently they have a warehouse full of old production.
Nice to see some DS8
Keep in mind that most items are including processing and EU return.

Seems Kahl found some new flair to run the business.
Kind regards,

André

It will be the only solution to let film continue that there must be a milliner who is a film fan and would like to take over the film production business from Kodak Fuji Agfa even Ferrania. ....

Film Ferrania website news section has been updated: "The Countdown Begins". An announcement in mid-September.

Also, from the FAQ:

When will you begin making film?
We are on course to turn on the machines and make our first test batches in early Autumn 2014.
We will make an announcement soon about the schedule for commercial products.

What's the hold up?
Our main facility is currently being refurbished - free of charge courtesy of the regional government in Italy. We are also on a deadline to purchase additional equipment from the old Ferrania buildings that are crucial to our operations. For this, we are seeking funding.

What's the Italian Government have to do with this?
Regione Liguria, the local branch of the Italian Government, has been the most amazing partner FILM Ferrania could ask for. They feel a great need to keep this historic product "Made in Italy" and have supported our team for more than a year as we lay the groundwork to restart.
They have worked with us and Ferrania Technologies to schedule the destruction of the old buildings on a timeline that allows us a really good chance at getting all of the pieces we need to build the new kind of film factory we envision. And they just spent €1.2 million renovating our main facility!
They want FILM Ferrania to restart and they're doing everything they can to help us.
