Single 8 film

Post by Mark Norton »

Hi, are single 8 cartridges still available? I have some nice super 8 cameras and buy super 8 cartridges from wittners, but I do miss using my tiny little Fujica P2 camera, point and shoot light meter on the side of the body some fantastic candid camera shots with this that I would have missed using any of my high end cameras.
I have tried the chinon pocket 8 super 8 camera as a replacement which was the smallest super 8 camera I could find, but it's results are no way as good.

The P2 should work with a small drone too :)
Use AAA or a 3 Volt from the main to save on weight.

Wittner used to sell Single-8 too.

Mr Tak is extremely slow and sparse on responding.
Otherwise visit Japan and find the materials around Tokyo town :)
That should save a lot of money.
Too bad other sellers are so reluctant to sell outside Japan.

EU reseller

Should be better and including processing.
Kind regards,

Hi Mark,

Tak sold his last 200 carts of Fujicrhome R25N last spring. Those were the last of the fuji made carts as production stopped the year before.

There are some repacked filmstocks in single 8 carts available from Retro8 in Japan and Frank Bruinsma at the Super 8 reversal Lab as AJ advised.

I would check that your P2 can expose them properly.

The new AGFA 200D film is also available in single 8 carts too.

Good luck!

try the Super8 Reversal Lab in the Netherlands

also, if you get your hands on some of the 1960's mk1 fuji single8 cartridges these can be filled with super8 film.
I've shot quite a bit of Vision3 with my little P2!
