I looked this up before. I believe an m80 does it for super 8 but forgot how many frames per second it goes. I'm trying to find a frequincy modulator that will adjust the wall current from 60 hertz to whatever I want but so far I have not been able to find one an appropriate size by googling it (I only want to pay for one powerful enough for a projector). If I can find it this will get the job done without having to mutilate a projector, also I'll be able to fast forward super 8, regular 8 and 16mm films with the same box!

I know someone on here talked about being able to film at 300 frames per second on super 8. I'm sure you could fast forward much faster with regular 8 because it has bigger sprockets and 16mm would depend on wether it is double perf or single perf.

I think Kodak made m80's along with m60's, m100's and maybe other m's which also might have fast forward. It is a funny looking projector that opens up like a suitcase on its side. What kind of camera is it you have that goes 250?

The Visual Instrumentation Corporation/Mekel Engineering SP-1/SP-1R can run at speeds of 10-250 frames/second. It accepts standard Super 8 cartridges and is powered by a 30V battery. The Mekel 300 Instant Analysis Camera, using Polavision Phototape cassettes, was also capable of such fast frame rates.

yes, It's a Mekel. I'm going to see if I can have a projector running at 48 frames a second. I found the m80 does 56. I have access to a Lafayette but know nothing about its running speed. I'm also wondering if there are 16mm projectors, especially xenon ones, that go faster than 24fps.

Slashmaster.... it's called a Variable Frequency Inverter (amongst other things!). Try this...

GBP 70 for 0 to 400hz output at up to 2.2kW sound very reasonable to me!
