Hey,
Great work. Always a pleasure seeing more videos by you. Nice raw feel, but the high speed shots add some elegance to the gritty texture.
Love the shots of the kids playing soccer.
Interested to see how sharp that UWL is on top of the leicina glass in some higher res stills. Always worried about using it- I've heard it was a plastic Wide Adapter.
best,

Was this supposed to be English?
Who's building were you tagging?
Cheers,
Mike
You can see the distortion of the 10mm when you pan up and down - interesting. I felt the street driving scene was cut to quick and jumped around a bit in concept.fromyoutube:

thanks..
language: german
it´s not the 10mm cinegon (which I also own) it´s the optivaron at 6mm plus the schneider UWL...so combined the lens is about 3mm focal length
sometimes you can see some slight vignetting in the
corners due to the ND filter I had to place between the main lens
and the Schneider UWL, because it adds some distance between the
two lenses
You have to focus the UWL with the macro setting of the
optivaron which is very delicate and needs some concentration...
otherwise the footage will be veeeeeeeeeeeeery blurry..
I will upload a still tomorrow

Yeah, I was thinking as I typed that the 10mm should not distort (and is not all that wide - I had my 35mm hat on I guess - so, yeah, nice to see the 6-66 in use. It's just a shame youtube makes all videos look like, well, youtubish. I am sure its super sharp and contrasty on DVD in comparison.
Good stuff.

super inspiring. totally dig the vibe. I'd love to see the non-youtube version (without so many compression artifacts). Dude, really great.
Do you crystal-sync?
If you want some new ideas : I'd love to see more film stock used to get different vibes for all the b-roll. Also, some more depth of field on the tagging scenes for a few b-roll shots. But amazing use of the "sun-burst" shots under the bridge. Very very nice. Das est gut.

Thanks...
I shot 10cartridges...
all of the footage is very sharp and looks
beautiful on a TV set..You have to be very careful when
focusing the UWLIII, but once you get it it looks great..
the leicina/optivaron combo never let me down when
it comes to sharpness...
I wanted to upload the video on stage6, but it´s closed
now...too sad..that was my favorite HQ upload/streaming site...
I will place a bigger version for you somewhere...
I let you know

oh.... no ..the camera is not chrystal sync
It is supposed to run with 25fps, but I measured
that it runs abou 1,3percent slower (but steady)
...to compensate, I timestretch the music playback I use on set
to 101,3percent...so when I have the footage telecined at 25fps
the footage on video tape matches the speed of the original
song enough to be in sync

Slick approach. That would avoid having to speed up the track in post, and altering the song. I never considered this.to compensate, I timestretch the music playback I use on set
to 101,3percent
I really want to try for the "coldplay" video look where you shoot hi-speed (36-54fps) on set (and presumably hi-speed music playback on set as well), to get that sort of floaty vibe when played back at 24fps.
I'm curious, what sort of equipment do you use on set to play back the music? I've been trying to figure out what would work best since you have to constantly rewind, pause, play. Also, do you use big speakers?
I guess a normal boom-box would be sufficient.
