What did you shoot with your last prepaid Kodachromes?

sport fishing in Cabo San Lucas Mexico, last January. I didn't catch anything... must have swore too much

I thought of looking up EMJ, but didn't get around to it. spent more time in San Jose del Cabo

I filmed my last 3 K40 carts early this year. All 3 on my trusty old Canon 1014E. The first two came back beautiful as expected.

The last film was one I found in my fridge with an expiry date in 1982. I took it to Lindeman Island in the Whitsundays in Queensland and filmed beach scenes on Lindeman, and also on Seaforth Island after a short paddle in a kayak. I also got some shots from the top of Mt Oldfield (212 metres) showing grass trees in flower in the foreground and beaches and islands in the distance.

I sent all 3 films off together via Kodak Australia. Two films came back in a few weeks, but the third one took a couple of weeks more for some reason.

The film dated 1982 came back clear, unfogged and sharp, but had a purplish tinge and subdued colour. Still worth watching though. I wasn't expecting much so I also took along my DV camera and filmed basically the same scenes on that.

I've now got some E64 and 100D film to experiment with. Also some Vision 200T if I can get the fax to Germany working. I've also got a 4008 Zm2 to get up and running (ye olde battery problem).

I made my last k40 pictures of my family, yesterday. Pictures where the the sky is blue the grass is green the sun is shinig.

....I shot a wedding for $$, sent the prepaids into Kodak Premium and they came back damaged with an apology note and a dozen free roles roles of of 64T...

After a cancelled trip I found myself with 10 cartridges prepaid left over last week , rainy weather, and nothing to shoot - eventually used a couple at a football match (Arsenal former players and celebrities) last Sunday - Sent to Switzerland - The rest will be used next month and sent to Dwaynes for processing.

the song is obviously slower. if you listen carefully to the camera noise you'll hear that i'm shooting in slow motion.

The lady's pleasant curves aside, I thought the yellow dress didn't work with the other colors - perhaps the classic lime green would have worked. My opinion. Also, how come the video twitches every few seconds - is that a QT low res thing that comes with the size presented? Great stuff though. I'll have to skip back and see if you mentioned what camera you were using for that shot.

i disagree obviously. remember that this is behind the scenes video footage. the framing is very different from what you see here. the carpet is not in the frame for example. there's actually no color in the frame at all except for her red lips and yellow dress. everything else is shades of grey.

yes. i used very low bitrate mpeg-4 with automatic keyframes. this tends to be the result.

i used a canon 814e. two 500w worklights and the practical 150w bulbs just about got me an exposure on 40 asa. will be interesting to see how k40 handles such low contrast scenes. i measured between 40 and 160 footcandles throughout the set.

Thanks - that makes a lot of sense (colors and camera set up).

Wish I could post what I did with my last K40 but I still have about 10 or 15 carts - shot about 15 in Canada this past year and perhaps 10 down here in sunny California over the summer - all family things with lots of tight close ups of my kids...but then, none of my K40 is prepaid processing - all will and have gone to Dwaynes.

I plan to keep on shooting the remainder over this winter, mostly on the water and will definitely plan some ultra low light after sunset paddling scenes with K40.

I had a couple of rolls of K40 I had bought, probably over a year over, sitting in the freezer. So a few weeks ago when I heard about the pre-paid processing deadline I shot a short film by myself with the K40 and the Tri-X. I hope everything comes out as "usable".

I shot around the coop with a Vistascope anamorphic attached to a Quarz camera. Why not go widescreen if it is the end of the line... Jean.

Well last summer I shot the big wad on a nature type documentary of my
trip through Alberta and Saskatchewan. I shot around 15 reels plus a
similar number of rolls of K64 slide film. I havn't gotten around to
editing it but it will montage slides with S8 coverage of the same shot.

My last 3 rolls were left overs from that trip. I shot them all last Janurary
and Feburary as home movies. One came out underexposed (the only
one I shot on manual). The rest were on auto mode and most of it looks
great. I was suprised at how great some of the interior shots came out.
I also learned quite a bit about spontaneous filming with S8, mainly
focus issues and when to use the EE lock. I really appreicated the stock
and format a lot more in using it in its intend use for home movies.

Too bad the replacement stocks don't work with auto cameras I think I'd
use it again for home movies.

Hi,

I used my last K40s to shoot a (very, very) short movie in Cinemascope (Kowa 2x anamorphot in front of a Nizo 4056). One of the carts came back as a blank film

But I was lucky shooting every scene twice, having the second shot on other carts! :?
This left me with a single cart of K40 that I got shot on my wedding in my father's Elmo Super 103. That camera recorded my whole childhood in K40, hence having this last roll shot with that camera was a worthy ending IMHO.

(When entering the cart into the 103 I noticed that the camera has got several pins for the ASA-notches. So it looks like the 103 might be e64t-compatible! Unfortunately I had "better" things to do than checking this, e.g. participating in my own honeymoon ;) I'm now back at work, but I still have to do things like sorting the wedding shots, ... )

I used to have an Elmo super 103 (until I dropped it and totally knackered the viewfinding system).

Yes it is 64T compatible...I think it offers ASA ratings from 15 to 250ASA...
