I bought a car for our next movie project, check out!

Post by jukkasil »

We are planning to shoot (mainly super 8) our next film during Summer 2007. The Film is a road movie-type of thing and called as "The circle six". I just bougth (couple days ago) this nice looking car for that film project. It's a russian made GAZ M21 ("Volga") from year 1963 in very good original condition. I'll do some fixing during next Winter and that's it. So I sold one american maden electric guitar (Kramer Night swan) and bought that russian piece of metal!

Here are couple images of it:

It runs? Nice find. Hilarious that an electric guitar can be sold for a car ;) Not too fond of Kramers myself.

A spaghetti western called Al Dente? ROTFL. I love that name. :)

Nice going on the car - what role is it going to play in the film? :)

It looks like an old Simca Aronde, from the same era. Perhaps it's partial clone ?

Haha!

I know these Volga's very well. We had lots of them running here in Belgium in the sixties.
They where build like tanks. I think Poetin has one in his collection, and he is very proud of it.

Yes, they look like the big Simca models from those days.
Remember Lada was a copy of Fiat, too.

With a car like this your new film can not go wrong 8)

Yes, it runs (have to fix brakes etc. during next winter before we'd start shooting the film). Here is a story of that Kramer Night swan-model:

I'm just building myself couple more guitar, so I don't need this Kramer anymore (too hard rock-type of one for my taste), you can check my guitar projects here (sorry only for Finnish):

With the name of that movie you'd get the main idea of it!

Volga will have very big role in this road movie.

You know, the first GAZ was a clone of T-model Ford, that's why russians copied also Volga from Ford area (Volga is bigger than Simca, but much influences from it too, ok Simca has also influences from 50's Fords):

The great site for information of Volgas in English:

In Belgium and here in Finland there were a lot of Volgas, also with diesel motor. BTW. GAZ made also Volga (model M-23) with 5,5 litre V8 motor for KGB.

Yes, Putin has a nice white one:

Yuri Gagarin had one too:

BTW, this car has been in movie also before, in the best selling movie here in Finland year 2001, called "Rentun Ruusu" (movie about the life of Finnish singer Irwin Goodman):
