So check the clip out and tell me what you guys think of what you see because I'm seriously considering using fomapan film, in my eyes it looks amazing.

Nice clip, looks really good to me. Makes me thing if you have a pretty good lens and your good with a light meter (external) your film sould come out fine. no matter what film you use. :D

Nice clip thanks for posting it - it's got a nice quality p***es all over black and white video - I love the low shot of the cat walking like it's a wild big cat - and the slow-mo on the dog at the start - the image wasn't as steady as I expected being Double Super 8 - but good none the less

Yeah, that's my footage from couple years ago (our black portugese dog Muska died one year ago for cancer, now we have two white great pyrenees (very big ones)).

It's was my first shot with Canon DS8 and Fomapan and I have couple loading promblems then (I have solved it after that session), that's why of some jitter. After that I have shot lots of same stock with same camera without any problem. You'll get great result with almost free Quarz DS8 cameras, just use search to find more of my examples.

Edit: Here is that another examples containing also Quarz material:

That old fashioned look is fantastic. Were you using any coloured filters for these clips?

The same happened last year with my 13 years old dog.
I'm happy to hear you have now two new dogs. :)

Very nice footage!
The cat scene is awesome.
From this point of view a cat is a little tiger indeed.

No, just shot with Quarz DS-M model camera (10 m film stock) without any filters etc.

Why don't You order Fomapan 135 still film? You could make some good tests. Foma is very good in some light-warnings. It's very low-contrast film, tollerant for underexposure. Very good for example for scenes in bright sunlight against sun or with the sun from left/right. Looks badly with the sun from back - all is grey & no contrast. I'd recommend to use yellow or orange filter - the sky and clouds look better.

A friend of mine have mentioned (he is experienced in super 8 technical things) to reload BW foma films to s8 cartridges and sell it in a process paid construction.
My question: what could be a reasonable price for that? is it a market for that ? What is your oppinion?
Of course this time this is just an idea...

Your footage sure looks beautiful. I can see the "tiger look" of your cat. I am curious about the diferent look of the film with these two cameras you used, at the point, I thought you used some kind of filter with the Quarz. Or is it just that this camera has the "more vintage" look?

regards,

Well, that Quarz-film waited to be sent developing about 6 months + the difference between lens of Canon and Quarz is huge, that's the biggest reasons I think.

Jukka,

I would like to find a Canon DS8 too, i've been after one of those for some time now,

I had an Elmo C-300 for some time, but it was stolen from me some time ago,

But i would like to know where to find a Canon, i think it might be much better than Elmo,

I liked your pets a lot,

Where did you find that dog, in Portugal?
