Reloadable Super8-Cartridges?
Hi,
maybe this is the stupidest question on Earth, but I noticed that the svema-super8-cartridges do have a "Kassema"-label on the packing. Does that mean that the film comes pre-loaded in those "Russian" reloadable cartridges?!?!

"kaccema" is translitterated as "kasseta", which is basically the same word as "cassette" in english. Here on these filmstocks above it only means the film is loaded in a cartridge (=cassette).
The reloadable "kaccema"s are from the soviet era. As the economic system was different and no need for advertising and promoting, many products did not have any brand name. Seems that the reloadable cartridges were sold as "reloadable cartridges". "Kaccema" is not a brand, it just means a cartridge in this context.

Ha! I wonder if one could get around modern customer service and warranty issues by making non-descript items with no brand name in a sort of 50's style, sending them in bulk to Russia where they are then sold as "good deals" on Soviet era products back to American customers. A kind of Walmart for Russkies. "KomradeMart" :lol:Seppo.T wrote:

It's always the same: The USAmericans are always crying about Europeans only trading with Europeans on eBay, but they aren't trading with anyone outside the USA themselves. At least this auction doesn't exclude Hawaii and/or Alaska ;)onsuper8 wrote:Why US bidders only - are us Europeans untrustworthy? :?

These aren't Kaccemas but cartridges as Kodak uses them. I.e you are supposed to glue them together. I suppose it can be taped too but it is very much less handy. Nice price, € 13-15 for a €0,25 dsipensable thing. The Swede wrote:You can get new ones at Wittner for 12,90 or 14,90 Euros

Better find old Agfa cartrdiges and mildly force them open...
Kodaks are harder to open without breaking things. But some give in easily. Depends who was on the glueing machine.
Kind regards,
André

Are you shure about that?
I assumed that you could reuse them
I mean what would be the point in buying one for that price if you only could use it once?
Strange...
