Re: How to telecine warped, brittle 1952 8mm film?
Im currently soaking som 1930 16mm kodak BW in Vitafilm to get rid of vinegar, varping and bending befor I try to telecine the film, or send it off to get telecined. I think the process with Vitafilm is that you are supposed to leave it for at least 4 weeks before wiping eccess fluid off, so perhaps...

Re: Bauer P6/7/8 - need some input
Wittner rules as always. They had the drive belt and I do believe they have the toothed belt to. I do recommend cheking the service manual before you change the belt. The site reffered to above is awesome. check it out. The P7 and 8 are truly sweet machines. Now if i only could get some 16mm feature...

Were you outside in the cold?
Do you have fresh batteries?
Does the cartridge come directly from the fridge?
Have you tapped the cartridge on the table before inserting it? (to loosen it)

Original or extension?
Here's a thread on the extension part.

For an original you'll brobably be best of getting a parts camera or contact Bjørn perhaps?
cheers

It's not necessarily the swearing alone that's funny, but the context of the message that makes it funny.Makes one wonder about the achievements of the swearers themselves. Apart from swearing and editing a videoclip.

Bauer P6/7/8 - need some input
So I just got this P7. I'm going to use it to view my grandfathers kodachromes from the fifties and other stuff frome the thirtys and fourtys. But the belt broke, and all manuals I can find are in German. I can read most of it but English would be better. Are there English manuals/service manuals fo...

Yes Happy new year to all of us! May there be a lot of super filming in '09!
And taping also. Just got a shiny, pretty, little, canon AVCHD thingy so I'm all set for the new year.

You can also search for Sankyo EM 40 or 60 xl camera manuals. these cameras are basically non-sound versions of the supertronic.

Re: Will the recession kill off super 8?
If Kodak starts hurting, super 8 is probably a place they could look to cut expenses. If they do (starts hurting), I doubt super 8 is the one thing they must cut to make ends meet. It will be a part of a "package" and easy to see if it starts to happen. Super 8 alone would be like pissing...

If you open the source http://www.outriggercanoe.com/mypics/snakeII_1.jpg you can see all of it, so yes it sucks that the forum crops it.

There was a problem with overseas shipping for that issue and Chris has now way of knowing if it arrived to you or not. Just PM him. I did and he responded within a day, and shipped me another copy.
Thanks again Chris!

Fred and Ted, the two of you should join forces and produce a DIY telecine pacakage and sell it.
