Is this normal for 4008zmII?
This was in Auto-mode, 100ASA, 18 fps, no cart in chamber, lens on camera: I'm pointing the camera at a light source and getting a reading at say 5.6. Needle in the middle in the viewfinder. When I press the trigger the needle drops down, below groove indicating correct exposure, and the aperture ri...

Re: Konica 8 and 100D
I think the Konica compact 8 has a lower "filter pin" in the cartridge compartment that feels if the cart is daylight or not and flips the filter in or out. Test by looking into the lens when you insert the cart. You should be able to clearly see the filter switch in or out. Its a brillian...

It does look like this project will involve Super8. Could this possibly revitalize super 8 in some way?

Re: soon: Ektachrome 100 D by Kodak from Kodak in Super-8
I'm exited to hear this. Always preferred 100 over 64 but kind of saved it for those special occasions. Maybe this means more usage = more buying films from kodak, Wittner or others = Good stuff.

Re: Some old 16mm clips
.... Fred.
:D Yup. As you can imagine the original scans from Andreas are great, and the quality of many of the original 16mm films are stunning. Some of the older 1930' stuff do have fine hairline cracks looking like a broken window or something like ...

Re: Some old 16mm clips
I'm not following your technical talk, gents, but maybe you can get something out of this: Editing steps: I didn't have machin power to edit the 10 bit files and used Virtualdub to convert them. (Avi, Huffy-codec). I think I did apply a deinterlace filter to "remove" interlace artifacts. T...

Re: Some old 16mm clips
The files from Andreas are 10 bit and on a hard drive stored safely somewhere else. These clips are ripped from DVD and does not show the quality of the files he gave me, still they show how great this medium was/is. I'll see if I can upload a more "original" clip. What is the most ideal v...

Some old 16mm clips
I've had a project going for a while now, transferring my granfathers 16mm films and getting them on DVDs for the family to enjoy. Andreas did an exellent job of cleaning and converting the films, and I did some editing, using Magix software, and burning DVDs just before christmas this year. This wa...

This is great. I filmed the old Holmenkollen skijump arena, (a national symbol) because at the time they wantet to build a new one for the Ski VM in Oslo in 2011 ...Meanwhile, the new arena is up, it's going to be aficcially opened by our foremost femal skijumper tonight, and they tested it last nig...

Re: Idiot Proof Camera
How about the Eumig Mini 3 Servofocus?. It's got a fix-focus lens with a zoom function. Sharp!
Throw in som Nauticas since you are going to be at the beach. Never know whats going to happen.
Another point and shoot cam is Konica Compact or something like that. Metal build as well. Fix focus.

Re: Why many 8mm films buffs skip this Ebay?
You think thats expensive? My last beer cost me 16 USD. I'm so shocked I haven't played with my cameras for ages. Bummer.winbert wrote:Hi Kent,
$80 for 3 reels (or $27/each) is just too expensive.
Are we possibly talking about a high sales tax here?

I just had a quick look at this, and must say I wish I had this some years ago when I had a a couple of 814s that was DOA.
Great job creating that site. Keep it up!
