Hi Tom,
I picked up a AF514XL-s on ebay this week, it was advertised as having a manual with it so if it's in English I'll get it scanned in when it arrives.
Will post again when (& if) it arrives - it's not due for a week or so yet as the seller wanted to be paid by cheque.

Basstruc, thanks for the warning. It's a shame they treated you like that when you film was screening. What are the producers trying to promote? the theatre? kodak? I must admit i'm still tempted to take part. Mainly because it would give me a deadline to aim for. I've been getting too bogged down i...

Straight 8 Screenings - sounds like a really good idea

Hello, I found out about http://www.straight8.net/straight8b.htm through this site. It sounds like a really good, fun idea to me. Shooting 1 roll of film, sending it undeveloped & unedited to straight 8 with a soundtrack on CD & then seeing what you shot for the 1st time at the screening! Ge...

Probably best to email paypal customer support & explain the problem. At least then you'd know for sure.

I've found the cameras on this site cheap & in excellent condition - http://www.super8film.at They are in Austria & the site is in German language. If you open another window & paste the german text in to http://www.freetranslation.com you'll know what you're looking at.
good luck

Yes I suppose there is no substitute for buying locally as far as being able to examine the camera before buying goes. But it's obviously still a lot of money. I bought a Eumig PMA881 camera + a Eumig 610 projector seperately from the Austrian site & both arrived in excellent condition. I've bee...

The paypal help page doesn't mention anything specific about accepting visa electron. They certainly do accept visa so why not give it a try?
What sort of camera / features are you after?

There do seem to be some great British films missing from the BFI's top 100 list. Has anyone seen Bill Douglas' trilogy My Childhood, My Ain Folk & My Way Home? Some of the best films I have ever seen. They are superb & Scottish so must be British too.

Hi, Thanks for the replys guys, I guess I'll think on it for a while. Al, I'd be grateful if you could tell me if you get your film ok. Just out of interest with PayPal, how does it work? I noticed that if you choose paypal as a payment option on the super8camera-shop site it still asks you for car...
