Re: Light Meter
So If I am shooting 18 fps (1/43 sec) is it just a guess between the 1/30 and 1/60 sec marks on the dial? and will this still give me a usable f-stop reading?

Re: Light Meter
I have used a Gossen Luna Pro for a number of years, and it is a very good istrument. Mine has a spot attachment which I use obout 90% of the time. This allows me to meter an area of 7.5deg, 15 and 30 deg. Recently in International Movie Making, they had an article on the Weston meters. I was so in...

The clip looks good. Did you use day light balanced bulbs or color correct for the red in post?

Re: Nizo 6080 VS Nikon R10
The Nikon R10 as I know does not accept the 400ft cartridges. The Nizo 6080 uses a belt which makes it very quiet (which may be the problem in the film transport you speak of ie. easy fix). Also it has an excellent lens and takes the 400ft cartridges. I would go with the Nizo they are very reliable ...

Re: Kodak: Baggage X-ray Scanning Effects on Film
Just got back from a trip within US. Leting them hand inspect film is a must. Some airports open the boxes to ensure film is still sealed inside, but that's it. And no one ever questioned my nizo pro. It went right through the xray

Re: Making a DVD from super 8 film
So if im stuck at 720x480 I will work with that. My next question is when DVDSP does the encoding it says its interlaced also when I use compressor to encode MPEG-2 clip progressive it still shows up interlaced in DVDSP.
Is there any way to ensure its a progressive DVD?

Re: Making a DVD from super 8 film
I know MPEG-2 is the best for DVD. I am looking for a way to get a better resolution closer to the original at 960x720 at 24fps rather than 720x480 at 30fps.

Making a DVD from super 8 film
I have scanned some film in frame by frame and am ready to make a dvd using dvd studio pro. The clips are 960x720 at 24fps Apple pro res 422 (hq). I have made a dvd already by letting DVDSP do the encoding and it resizes clips to 720x480 at 30fps. I am using the SD dvd setting so more dvd players ca...

Re: Kodachrome - Final Homage
Great film!
I like the end where it zooms out from the projector screen.
PS. I hope to get my super 8 scope book soon
