Oh I'd think of at least 10 off the top of my head. yeah, and i can think of at least a few dozen professionals and hundreds of amateurs, see what i'm saying? /matt I know these people personally, not just people I have read about. I know some pros personally, and those who need to get work to the ...

I know only one semi-serious photographer who has gone totally over to digital... well, how many semi-serious photographers do you know? those are who i call the enthusiasts, and they are very few. most photographers are either professionals or complete amateurs. /matt Oh I'd think of at least 10 o...

Angus, in photography this debate is already over. The quality debate is lost for film there, We obviously inhabit very different planets :) I know only one semi-serious photographer who has gone totally over to digital....I know plenty who intended to but went back to film. I have yet to see a pro...

From the stills posted here, it seems that S8 is stronger in Europe than it is in the US. Tom That is what us Europeans keep saying to the Americans who try to tell os super8 is dead... Whenever I've taken a S8 camera to the states I get people asking why I use it, asking what it is, assuming the f...

http://home.c2i.net/jantoresvart/turntables/iix-900.jpg My baby :) 'cept mine is all black. To be honest I don't find linear tracking tt's are any better. I'd only ever ditch the Systemdek if I were able to afford something really esoteric. And to keep on topic, my favourite S8 camera... http://www...

I do not think that frame is from the USA, the lane divider lines would be yellow in the US I think? The feeder lane is coming in from the left, which means it could well be the UK but then I think the leftmost white line would be dotted. The real question is, where is the other carriageway? On the ...

Kodak manufacture many, many products that they do not advertise, they're one of the few companies still doing sheet film and glass plates. The enthusiasts know the stuff is there. However I have found the following: a) Many people assume S8 (and R8) is dead and that the film is impossible to obtain...

Replacement belts are absolutely no problem you can get the belting material yourself and make a belt to any length. Belting comes in 2,3 and 5mm diameter at the very least. It's very easy, you just cut the belt to the required length, melt the two ends with a soldering iron (or hot knife) and join ...

Just a quick post to this thread :) I used to be a Eumig boy, I still own three Eumig projectors...but then I bought a Chinon 6800 twin track and it runs much smoother than any of my Eumigs (or my Fujica or Gaf)...lovely machine and quite stylish! So Melanie although conventional wisdom certainly su...

Lucas, I have a Eumig mini3 but I really don't like it. It's larger than the Elmo Super 103 that I just had to throw away and too simple for my liking because of the fixed focus lens. Pedro is correct about the 'wiping' effect of the 514XL which is why I sometimes use the Sankyo MF606 instead, about...

Canon 514XL is very nice, and to be honest how many compact cameras are going to shoot at 24fps? It's my backup camera too, though occasionally I use a Sankyo MF606 which is around the same size. I just recently junked my Elmo Super 103 (it got dropped and terminally damaged), lovely small camera th...

I am guessing they are no more. I know Ralph was having thoughts a couple of years ago about throwing in the towell, but decided to continue. I have requested their latest catalogue twice in the last 6 weeks and received nothing, though I think they did update their website in December 2002. So just...
