Re: Who's Left Shooting 16mm?

I shoot both Super8 and 16mm. for S8, I have a Beaulieu 5008s multispeed, but have dropped off using it because the built in light-meter stopped working (well, it works temperamentally)... Hoping to get one of the new Kodak cameras when they're released. As for 16mm, I have a few cameras. For hand-h...

Re: Cinevate Battery Attachment to 15mm Rods

yeah, I'm jealous, that's a great deal! I'm currently using a 12v 5Ah remote-control-car battery that works great, but these look much sturdier/more functional (especially the indicator)
I'll have to keep my eye out for one on ebay that isn't priced at $150 ea. (w/$25 shipping)

Re: Cinevate Battery Attachment to 15mm Rods

isn't the 4-pin XLR output 12v? (with the switchable 3.3/5/7.2v output coming from a mini-TRS(?) output) This actually looks like a great battery for my Éclair ACL, but I am a bit dismayed that the ebay auction linked to in the initial post wants double the advertised, and very affordable, price...

Re: Angenieux 8-64mm with new Kodak Camera

Excellent! Thanks for the info! Also picked up a Yvar 16mm AR prime for $14, worth a shot. unfortunately the design of the Yvar 16mm lens may not work with the new Kodak cam. The problem is that the rear lens element extends past the c-mount threads when approaching infinity focus (I bought one a f...

Re: Angenieux 8-64mm with new Kodak Camera

The Super8 lenses made for C-mount (for either Beaulieu or Pathé cameras) use the standard C-mount focal distance... so yes the lens should work, so you probably won't need to get it collimated (another plus with the new Kodak camera is that it employs a video screen, so no diopter to throw off t...

Re: I Made My Own "New" Super 8 Camera >>>

the only place I know to get Ektachrome 160 processed is Spectra Film & Video, and they charge $75 per roll with a 120 day turnaround... I wouldn't say that young people aren't interested in Super8 (I work at a school that sells Super8 and 16mm film and can tell you that most people buying films...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

Kodak announced, via facebook livestream, that the special edition will be coming out in early spring for $2k. way too much for me.
apparently "shortly" afterwards a cheaper model will be released (no timeline, or price point, given however)

via a livestream on facebook they announced that a special edition version of the camera will be released early this spring (the same model they're showing around CES) for $2,000 (with a cheaper model coming out "soon" afterwards)

Re: Kodak rumors - new film stocks and hardware

WOW, where did you find that image? I'm really curious to see what a Vision 3 filmstock would look like as reversal. It could be really beautiful, with nice tight-grain. Also wondering if it will be daylight, or tungsten, balanced (given the missing D from the packaging)? I'm guessing it will be E-6...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

I'm thinking that this got leaked a little early (like, maybe an announcement will be coming Sept 1st, or something) The NWFC has been in contact with Kodak about the cameras, and they are definitely still coming (we may get our hands on one to test out before the end of the year, too) My hope is th...

Re: Where to find ACL jaeger connectors

Jaeger connectors are tricky to work with because you have to solder the wires to the pins and then use a special pin inserting tool to assemble them properly. Huh, I guess I just expected them to be like XLR cables (easily soldered). I'm currently in contact with Bernie about finding the plug, but...
