Cir Deluxe Super 8 Splicer

Does anyone know where one of these could be had, and how much it might cost? Is there any reason to prefer this one over the currently available INC3 model, other than the fact that this model has a plastic base and the deluxe a metal base?

TIA for any help or suggestions.

As I've mentioned about 1,001 times on this forum, you can get non-mercury replacement PX625 1.35v Wein cells from the following places for about $5-8 USD: - Du-all Camera - Freestyle Photo - My Old Camera (link on this site) - Super 8 Stuff - Wittner These are inexpensive, the correct voltage, and ...

Evan Kubota wrote:If you used the filters I'd be interested in comparing notes - they don't come with any documentation about light loss, etc.
To determine filter factors, just take a spot reading of a gray card with and without the filter in front of the meter and note the difference, and there you have it.

Freya, Try Blue Audio Visual in London. They have a variety of bulbs and may well have the one you're looking for. FWIW the Echo Park Film Center has the 6v10w viewer bulbs, but they're located in Los Angeles (they will ship them, I believe). And Super 8 Bauer Nizo in France has the halogen viewer b...

You can also test the f-stops vs t-stops of your camera by taking incident light readings with an external meter, then meter the same objects in the same light with your camera at different focal lengths, noting the differences at each focal length. This won't tell you how much light your camera's V...

I had a problem with the meter in my 801m last year and solved it with a piece of foil. You can read the original thread here.

When I switched to Wein cells this stopped being a problem, and now the meter works sans foil.

They're also available through Du-All, Freestyle, Super 8 Stuff, and Wittner, for about $5-7 USD. You can order them on-line.

Of the three, I prefered the look of 100D, with the 50D in a very close second, and the 64T least of all.

In terms of film speed, I'd also be most happy with the higher rating of 100D, because I could use it in weak light as well.

This summer I'm going to try a test roll of 100D.

L'ETNA

For those in Paris or in the Paris area, I wanted to point out that L'ETNA, an organization like N.O.Where Lab in London, is celebrating its "more or less" 10th anniversary with a week-long series of screenings of experimental films, many of them shot in Super 8. You can find the program h...

I'm intrigued because Les chants de Maldoror is a work that would seem to defy filmic adaptation. Anger planned to do so while living in Paris in the '50s but gave up after filming only one segment (the section addressing the "Old Ocean"). I've never heard of anyone else even attempting to...

Re: VHS vs DVD

Ah, I believe you're right about Anger and B&W. If I recall there was at least one project begun in B&W but never finished (an adaptation of "The Story of O") Wow, I had never heard about that unless it was one of the films that Kodak destroyed? Do you know anything more about it?...

Anybody know anything about this one?

Anybody see it?

If so, any opinions about it?
