Thanks Al - what you have said makes sense. I suppose I'm most curious about shooting at 54fps and then transferring at 12fps. I wonder if the same problems of jerkyness would persist if the transfer was made this way...(??) Does that mean you would also play back at 12fps? or just transferring at ...

I've done this sometimes (film at 24fps & slow down at transfer / edit stage) & it will never look as good as filming at a faster frame rate. movement will look more jerky because you end up with 2 identical frames then a jump to the next. If you know you want a certain shot to play back in ...

Are UK customs part of a digital vs film conspiracy?!

UK customs charge customs duty on certain items being imported to the uk from outside the EU. No real explanation is given why they appy a charge to certain types of item & not to others. I was looking through their pdf document on common internet goods to see if there was a charge for importing...

I've paid thru the nose at the widescreen centre up to now, but plan to use this US ebay seller in the future: jmp61
link
looks to have lots of good feedback & prices from the US are great because of the exchange rate.. 4x tri-x for under 30 quid + shipping

good luck

Any recommendations for a nice audio card w/breakout box for line-balanced input to the PC from the Nagra 4.2 (or whatever)? I've got a friend with a ProTools rack and I've been using that, but would be nice to have the capability at home... M-Audio do a good range - this one has balanced ins http:...

the 514xls manual lists the settings as:

artificial light: ASA 40 160 250
daylight: ASA 25 100 160

It's probably the same on the silent version?

Will EKTACHROME 64T work with auto-exposure?

Wondering if EKTACHROME 64T work with auto-exposure on most super 8 cameras? If not it's bad news for dumb-asses like me who rely on the auto exposure controls on their cameras! Anyone know??

...Is that silver body aluminum like the Nizos are? hi Santo, No the body on the 881 seems to be more plastic type material to touch, not sure exactly what though.. ...How does it stack up next to the other cameras? I've still got my Nizo 3056 as one of only two super 8 cameras I own and think it's...
