Re: Has anyone filmed slow motion on super 8 without bounce?

I don't see the footage on youtube being slow motion. When you look at the fumes left by the rocked close to the ground you see that they are moving at a quite normal speed. I have filmed slow motion myself with a Nizo 6080 and got a steady image. I think the problems with the Kodak Super 8 cartridg...

Thank you Martin Baumgarten!

I did some tests with Plus-X Standard 8 lately and developed it according to Martin Baumgarten's procedure found on the internet. The results are great and I also love the sepia toned images.

Re: Canon 814XL Electronic... problems?

Welcome David! This problem has been described in the forum. I can't remember the thread but if you search a bit you will find it. As far as I can remember it has something to do with the electronics; as the camera's name suggests the shutter is not activated mechanically by pushing the trigger, but...

Re: Canon 318M Auto Zoom

Could be that a mirror in the lightpath of the viewfinder has gone (fallen) out of its place. Don't know how to open this camera and whether it's easy to check.

Re: Power usage when a super 8 camera is turned on?

I'd be more concerned about the power consumption of the camera doing single frames. I have at least one camera manual that states that a set of fresh batteries is good for 8 to 10 cartridges shot at 18 fps but only ONE cartridge when shot entirely on single frame setting. I think the suggestion wit...

Re: Simple fixed focus cameras

I have got an Agfa Family camera that has an Agfa Movaron 10 mm lens. Will this give sharp images?
I used a Agfa Family camera once and it did not give very sharp images. I don't think this camera is worth a try.

Re: Nizo 6080 VS Nikon R10

I have only got experience with the Nizo 6080 and I have to say it runs so quietly that the loudest sound is the clicking of the Super 8 cartridge (the take up spool has got this mechanism so it doesn't unwind). The only thing it is lacking is a variable shutter angle, beside that a really great cam...

Got some looks

I used my Canon 310XL and some E64T to film parts of my kids' Christmas performance at their school yesterday. The 310XL is not really a quiet camera, so I got some looks. People even turned round and you could read in their faces: "What is he doing?!" Quite an unusual sound inbetween the ...

Re: Developing 16mm BW neg.7222

Russian Lomo tanks are a possibility, but they can only hold 10 or 15 m of film - you will find some information on the tank in this forum. It seems that for home developing of longer films self built solutions are necessary.

Re: DIY Canon 814xl repair

I wonder whether it could be a similar problem to the one described in the thread "Has my new old camera croaked it?". My 814XL does similar things: it doesn't always stop when I release the trigger and sometimes it also doesn't start the moment I press the trigger, but a bit later. Combin...

Re: Ektachrome 100D jamming in Nizo 4056

When you turn the cartridge spindle you should hardly be able to pull the film through. This is because you don't want a pull by the spindle acting at the place where the claw works. I had cartridges once that were obviously too well lubricated and you could pull the film though easily by the spindl...

Re: Canon 814 xl-s internal filter.

No other camera comes to mind that does this.
The Zeiss Ikon Moviflex's also have this "clear filter".
