Universal TrueView stability addressed plus Pixel Fix!
Okay, just uploaded a new 4.0.9 version that addresses the pesky TrueView stability issue. As it turns out, the third part graphics library used for the TrueView window was simply too unstable on some PCs. And since we could not get under the hood of the library to access the code to address it prop...

Re: RetroScan Universal 2k problem
The reason we don’t know - and the reason no one else is likely to know - is because the TruView function is through a third party graphics library. As such, we can’t look under the hood to see why it works on some systems and not on others. It’s a head scratcher because this library has been used p...

Re: Retro 8 retro scan playback isssue
I have a retro 8 pro and scanned some film. I exported to 420p. Some of the movie files will not play back, however. I get a 2048 error code from QuickTime. I uninstalled QuickTime and reinstalled it and even download a mpeg-4 codec. Even deleted the file and re exported it, Nothing will play these...

Re: Customer review: RetroSync Studio Sound Module
Another nice RetroSync user review: .......The sound quality is totally a function of your playback machine (projector's playback electronics), not a function of the RetroSync unit. It is true that the sound quality is dependent on the projector you use. However, since the function of the RetroSync...

Re: Customer review: RetroSync Studio Sound Module
Another nice RetroSync user review: I've been using the new RetroSynch sound unit for a few days and I have to say that it is awesome, like all the other great innovations from the genuises at MovieStuff. I use it on S8mm optical (seriously) and magnetic and 16mm optical and magnetic sound projects....

Re: Customer review: Universal 2K
I would also like to see some films scanned, scanned films. I have posted many videos of my self developed movie film on my YouTube channel. Too bad the idea hasn't caught on yet. It is very easy to do. Only takes a few minuets. Doesn't cost anything. Unfortunately, clips viewed on the Internet rar...

Customer review: RetroSync Studio Sound Module
This is hot off the press from a customer in the UK regarding our new RetroSync Studio Sound Module: Wow what can I say, I have recently taken delivery to Scotland of a brand new RetroSync unit from MovieStuff. Having used the RetroScan Universal for nearly a year now, I have no problem putting my f...

Re: Customer review: Universal 2K
Awesome! Glad it's working well for you. You should have the spacers you need to crop as required as we included an extra 10mm tube. To fine tune the crop, just turn the focus barrel one direction or the other and then use the column knob to refocus. You will find that you can subtly "zoom in a...

Re: RetroSync software offline temporarily
Almost embarrassing but there's yet another new RetroSync update version 1.0.0.5 which finally addresses some pesky install issues we had in the last version(s). Crazy. Anyway, this new version works just great, very stable and we also added a sync option for users that have the old Bell and Howell ...

Re: Bauer sound projector question for the gang...
Update on this mystery. This info from Van Eck: In reverse the motor runs in the different direction, this means that the cooling from the fan is not reaching the part that burn the film. This is why in reverse the film is in more danger off burning. With kind regards, Thijs de Kort Repair departmen...

Re: RetroSync software offline temporarily
Okay, the RetroSync beta software is back on line. There was a problem with a corrupted installer. The new 1.0.0.1 version seems to be okay. Sorry for any inconvenience to any new RetroSync users.

Re: Bauer sound projector question for the gang...
Hi Roger, the Bauer projector has a three bladed shutter at all frame rates. The extra set of blades is for reverse motion. In forward motion, the two sets of blades align, so the light output is maximized. In reverse motion, the smaller set of blades shifts a bit to create a longer dark interval. ...
