Anyone on twitter? Subjects to follow?

So, as I find myself on twitter (super_8_man), is anyone on there? Any good subjects to follow related to cameras, film, small format, etc? Just trying to catch up on the buz out there...or has film died as that Salon article tries to suggest... And no, the "super8man" moniker was taken so...

Re: Posted Some New BW & C (2011) S8 Clips On The Tube

At the 50 second mark and the 1.10 mark, or somewhere, the clips, combined with the small format and the dust looked absolutely fantastic. VERY VERY real from all my watching of The World at War series from the 70s. Fantastic stuff.

Re: My website is now updated through 2010...

I never did do a second part to that...sort of like if George Lucas had of stopped at the original Star Wars.

But seriously, thanks for the reminder. Trying to get the mojo going to add more fun content.

Cheers,
Mike

My website is now updated through 2010...

I think I got it all up to date now. Rescued the SATA drive from the dead computer, backed it up, and now lots of good information is back online, thanks to Filmshooting.com. http://super8man.filmshooting.com/ Let me know if anything is amiss or you want something else listed that I may have in my c...

Re: What is the best reflex Regular 8mm camera?

I have three 8-T models... I also have the rare adapters that allow you to use the superior-bayonet mount of the Canon Cine lenses on the screwmount D-lens Bolex cameras. I guess Canon wanted Bolex owners to buy their lenses! hahaha... I have the 50mm, 36mm and 25mm lenses if I recall correctly...

Re: What is the best reflex Regular 8mm camera?

I stocked up on 3 of the Canon regular 8 camera with two removable lenses and yes, you can focus through the lens and then move your head and use the viewfinder to continue shooting...it's the best of the best, IMO. Now, if only I could resurrect my HD's that are unavailable at the moment to update ...

Re: Going digital for all intents and purposes...

This: " Bolex anamorphot " is still my holy grail! Nice to hear you are using it. Good for you.

Sadly, my darn HTC Inspire smartphone is becoming my "handy" camera now...but that's not serious photography...unless you limit your resolution to facebook size.

Re: Super 8 Man's website is back online

Thanks...I am still missing some of my later pages (I was up to page 44 on my site) but those are locked on a computer that had it's main drive either crash or get infected...so the other 6 hard drives on it are there, safe and sound, but with no driving OS to get access to them...I will get to it i...

Super 8 Man's website is back online

My super 8 website is back up:

http://super8man.filmshooting.com/

Let me know if you there are strange links (since it's hosted on a new server and the files I uploaded were not necessarily the latest ones from the original website).

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Going digital for all intents and purposes...

Those are very nice comments you made. Thanks. Sadly, we just sold my Mum's house and they are both in assisted living apartments. Life is good for them, in a manner of speaking. Interestingly, the island garden has overgrown to almost be unrecognizable from when she tended it. And yes, the capturin...

Re: Going digital for all intents and purposes...

No doubt film is great. But after going through my parent's house and literally tossing photos and negatives into the dumpster, at some point you realize you can't take it with you nor can you store it all for some unknown future relative who might look at it. Don't worry though, we saved the good s...

Re: Going digital for all intents and purposes...

Yeah, since my pacbell domain died (without warning) I will do my best to put the content that I have backed up onto my outriggercanoe.com website. I want to keep up the information since a lot of time went into it. Like I said, I will keep three or four cameras including my Scoopic 16MS and the Bol...
