Re: Bolex C8
Probably you are right, but I'm going to visit my repairman with other cameras for example a black yashica professional rangefinder (just think about this is kind of a real amateaur camera especially because of they have written on it: "professional" :) ) and a few other ones, so i just go...

Re: Bolex C8
Yes, my impression was the same when it came to me: what a great pocket camera. After winding up I realised how precise this machine. I can't wait to see the results but before filming I want the lens to be cleaned by a professional altough the lens are not so bad but I want to have a camera in exce...

Bolex C8
I've just bought a Bolex paillard C8 camera. I'm just getting involved in standard 8mm filming and it is so ridiculos, that from 60 years ago this camera is the same size than the newest digital video equipment... I also realised that it was made primarly for women. So, these are my first impression...

Re: Super8graphy
I just mentioned that the 'pass the cart project 2' is almost finished. I've seen my part of it but not all the carts are ready, so it is better to wait untill the whole thing will be done. On the other hand, don't forget that sharing one cart among a few participants is just one type of internation...

I think the timelapse project and Nathan's super 8 cities project are also succes stories of international super 8 cooperative filmmaking.

Re: Super8graphy
This is a very good idea! The Internet could be the place to share the films and I think there is no need to have too much rules. The categories could be: Black and white or colour; 1 minute films; 1casette time films; Other. I think the basic rule, that there is no rule! It could be a more creative...

Re: Double super 8.
If you like mechanical clocwork cameras, you can buy a russian quarz for a very reasonable price, there are a lot of ds8 cameras made in the USSR.
But these are very simple ones, so I think it is better to find a camera like the canon zoom ds8.

Re: Finally uploaded some footage
Nice footage and it's great to see a carneval in Krasnoyarsk during the summer in Siberia with vivid colours, dancers, pretty girls and even capoeira! The world is really different than we think of it.

Portland seems to me a very nice city. And Pink Martini is also from Portland.
I like your short, it's not an easy task to make a film in 30 seconds and I think you've done it very good and the film is really something i can enjoy! I've watched it 3 or 4 times.

Re: Home movies
This idea, feeling, or concept you speak of, though, fits well into an ongoing series I'm creating. It's more or less a time log series of little solo adventures I take around Cape Breton Island, or; Documentations of Witness I call the series. They could be landscape shots, woods, melting icicles,...

Re: Home movies
Have a good year Alex and Charlie! Mainly I use super8 but recently I've bought a standard 8mm camera and I'm willing to use it but the last few mounth I had no time for it. I hope I will have enough time for filming from february. I'm also very qurious about a new canon 310 camera for low light fil...
