Re: Can someone tell me the difference??? (telecine)
18 cents/foot for Sniper transfer sounds pretty reasonable. The sniper is a nice telecine unit. A couple other items you may wish to consider are: 1) film prep prior to transfer, i.e. removing lint and hair from the prints using a non-abrasive cleaning method. Ask for the return of your films even i...

Re: OT (again). My latest painting!
I looked long and hard at the larger version looking for a subliminal embedded cowboy, wooden fence, something that ties into your normal subject matter...DOH, I didn't find anything. 8O
Nice work Roger, I too at first thought photo.

Re: 1014 XL-S Repair Question
Elvis, I found the original thread, search for 814 and my name, jcook, using the advanced search feature. I tried to paste it here but for whatever reason it doesn't paste correctly. There are relevant comments out there from numerous people. Try searching for both "814" and "1014&quo...

Re: 1014 XL-S Repair Question
BigElvis I can personnaly vouge for the long dissassembly instructions, I posted them here a couple years ago. Use the forum's search feature, I've posted several follow ups' to this tear down procedure in several threads in this forum, they may still be there in cyber space. Let me know if you get ...

Again, nice work, you completed that painting during a single Sunday?
I'm lucky to get anything done on a Sunday the family always has something going on.

I've done the live streaming video thing on numerous occasions. Invariably something always hickups part way through a feature that distracts you and try as they might the streams really don't equate to upconverted DVD quality let alone HDDUD or BRay. I don't forsee downloadable films going anywhere...

those RCA laser discs that were popular back in the early 80's were really nice. Those things were awesome! Even when you transfered from the disc to a video tape you could see the superior results! The failed RCA format was called CED and had nothing to do with the more prolific Pioneer laserdisc ...

As you probably heard Warner announced to go BRay only but not until May. From what I've read many large retail chains are now pushing Paramount and Universal to at least go neutral. Our local Best Buty has 5 display shelves vs three in favor of BRay. Paramount, which went HDDVD only earlier this ye...

After a second look at your photos I noticed that the wide angle photo shows the curve of the lens on the top and bottom left edge of the view finder. You've a definite misalignment. I'd be curious to hear if you see the lens on film when shooting wide angle. If so it's not the view finder but the p...

On second thought these adjustments screws may not be the place you need to make the adjustment. Been severaly years now, but If I recall correctly the screws I mentioned above do change the left/right image in the viewfinde but they also affect the frame location in the viewfinder too. In other wor...

Vidwer With regard to your offset view finder problem. I'm speculating here, I'm away from home at the moment and don't have access to the service manual. If the 814 matches the 1014 with respect to the viewfinder there are two adjustment screws located inside the tape load area of the camera. The s...
