Re: ZC1000 focus isue
I've been trying to track down a copy of the service manual to get an idea of how the optical pathway is laid out, no luck so far. from what I can see the screws for adjusting the pressure plate are located in the tiny gap between the gate and the plate itself; so I'm not sure how to get to them. I ...

Re: ZC1000 focus isue
I am pretty intrigued about your camera problem. You say focus seems to be 15- 20 cm further away from where you're aiming. Does this mean if you were to deduct that 15-20cm from your original set focus distance, you would then get the image in focus? Is the focus consistently out of focus or do yo...

Re: ZC1000 focus isue
thanks Silverdream, I think the prism sounds like the most likely culprit, I've seen other cameras with pull down/shutter sync problems and there tends to be vertical motion blur or strobing effects on the footage nikonr10, I'd describe the focusing on this camera as imprecise. a couple of years ago...

Re: ZC1000 focus isue
thanks for the reply. I did some tests this morning as the camera's been gathering dust on a shelve for the past year or so. I've tried three different lenses on it and taken measurements: Cosmicar 25mm f1.4. focused to 0.6 meters. what I can see through the view finder matches what I'm getting from...

ZC1000 focus isue
I have a ZC1000 that seems incapable of focusing accurately, no matter how much care and attention I take on setting the focus on a subject the film always comes back from the lab showing the focus always significantly behind/further away from what I was aiming at! I'm trying to figure out what migh...

Re: Single 8
I'm not sure where you can get it serviced but I would assume that any engineer who can deal with Super8 cameras can also deal with this: given that the only major difference is the pressure plate. with regards to buying new film I'm afraid that Retro Enterprises is the only game in town as they pro...

Re: Removing Orange Mask from Colour Negative Scans
for me the trick seems to be to set the white balance on the scanner to neutralize the orange cast on the negative and then invert the colors and adjust the green and blue curves in After Effects. I did some tests with re-scanning some neg I had previously had transferred on a FlashScan and was able...

Re: Old Fujica R25 film
I'm not sure, I used them last September, pretty fast turn around from what I remember. Are they still in operation? It is rather affordable and considering chemisty costs almost as if they work for nothing.
I meant to send some more r25n to them earlier this year but ended up going to Tokyo instead

Re: Old Fujica R25 film
if you don't want to send it to Japan 'KP Film Lab' in Antwerp can hand process both r25 and r25n.
I had 100ft done there last year with good results (including some 10 year out of date film!)

Re: Single 8 film
try the Super8 Reversal Lab in the Netherlands
http://www.super8.nl/english/e_index.htm
also, if you get your hands on some of the 1960's mk1 fuji single8 cartridges these can be filled with super8 film.
I've shot quite a bit of Vision3 with my little P2!

Re: Blackmagic introduces $30K 16/35mm film scanner
apparently it's sprocketted so making an 8mm and or super8 gate may be very tricky to say the least. also, from what I understand the sensor is in a fixed position and is windowed when scanning 16mm meaning 2k only. with this in mind; if the machine was adapted for 8mm presumably the resolution woul...

Re: Wolverine Super F2D 4-in-1 Film to Digital Converter
it outputs jpegs at 3000x2000 (annoyingly stretched to 16:9). I strongly suspect it's windowing it's sensor to around 750x500 when scanning smaller formats and then enlarging the images to 3000x2000 there's no setting for super8 negative; but I guess there's nothing stopping you putting negative thr...

Re: Wolverine Super F2D 4-in-1 Film to Digital Converter
got one on ebay for £60, not so great imho http://oi59.tinypic.com/i2je6v.jpg the first six images are expired hand processed fuji r25n; on the left scanned to SD on a Flashscan and on the right scanned with the F2D (no color correction) the bottom two images are 16mm fuji Eterna 500T, on the lef...

Fujica ax100 over exposure problem
hi, long time listener first time caller :D I've been doing some experiments with reloading Super-8 film in to old Fuji Single-8 cartridges so far with great success. I'm using two cameras; a Fujica P2 and an AX100. The P2 behaved beautifully with no jitter or focus and exposure problems but the AX1...
