Re: Is DSLR the terminator for super 8 and 16mm?

A lot of young people (such as me, I start with 16mm 4 years ago) are intereting to shoot with film, however, there is no more factory to product amateur or semi pro model camera any more. Only some modification and maintenance version are availabe with very expensive price by pro8mm or wittner... W...

Aperture of Berthiot Pan Cinor Zoom lens

I saw some C mount Som Berthiot Pan cinor zoom lens with the "dog leg" reflex viewfinder on ebay, abour 100-200 EUR. I would like to know that is the aperture behind the mirror. Because if it is , the viewfinder will be able to keep bright view always.

Re: The sound of Eumig projector 810 807

Thanks for reply Bill :D I checked the N-S Switch of 807, it is on S, and there is no hum from the speaker, so probabely the amplifier is dead. I will open it and check. The 810, 24 fps doesn't work, and the room for the N-S switch is empty, and there is no extra standard 8 film gate to be stored on...

The sound of Eumig projector 810 807

I have 3 super 8 projectors. They are Eumig 610D 807D and 810D I had never projected sound film before. Today I got one sound film, which has a brown track on the side, but both 807 and 810 doesn't play the sound. 810 has some noise and the yellow light could swith on, but 807 is totally silend and ...

Re: Is DSLR the terminator for super 8 and 16mm?

The reason why video tape didn't terminate small gauge films, it is because it doesn't give the film looking. So users were devided to two section, Film and video. However all DSLRs have big sensor which is the twice size as 16mm film frame, it could give the film look, and cheap to use. 10 years ag...

Re: Is DSLR the terminator for super 8 and 16mm?

Yes you are right that any DSLR or M4/3 .... can't give the comfortabllity for shooting as a real cine cam, because they are desinged for still photography. but, who knows if they developed this weak point on the newer model? The price, 25 EUR include processing is for 100D only, Negtive and other t...

Re: Sankyo CME 1100 repair

I just send the testing film to lab last week, my conclusion of this camera: Neg. 1)The inner 85A filter will be swiched off ONLY when the tungsten light is mounted. (as most Japanese model) So I want to put a 85B in front the lens, I must find a tripod screw to screw on the tungsten light shock. 2)...

Re: Is DSLR the terminator for super 8 and 16mm?

Yes, that what did I mean in my first post. In Wittner, 1 cartrdge + processing + shipping is more than 40 EUR for 2.5 min. A new Olympus Pen EPL cost 400 -500 EUR shoot as long as the memory card can afford.

Is DSLR the terminator for super 8 and 16mm?

Since DSLR can shoot movie clip, even professinals are giving up to use 16mm for TV comercials. also the super 8 market is getting more and more unpopular in amateur market. Consider the cost and the quality, I really couldn't see any advantage of small gauge film compare than DSLR, except the style...

Re: which super 8 has smallest filter thread and run 24fps

Well 20-36mm / 1.5x anamorphic lens is about 14-24mm it is much better than 50-56mm on Nizo 3056. may be I will try a Nizo 136 with my iscomorphot 8. :D

Re: which super 8 has smallest filter thread and run 24fps

Thanks jpolzfuss :D I scanned the links you wrote, it looks like Rollei SL 82 has the smallest filter size. I searched on ebay, it is not very popular and most rollei model are defect. But according the rule you wrote that less zoom rate than 4x. Finally, I found an Agfa Movexoom 2000 on ebay which ...

Re: Sankyo CME 1100 repair

Finally I found out the real reason. When the "fade out" is turned on,the red light on top of the viewfinder will turn on, the auto mode will start with F32. I tested without film. maybe that is the reason the meter stays at f32. When I turn the button to fade in, the red light is turned o...

Re: ISCOMORPHOT 8/1,5x questions

I just bought a expensive iscomorphot 8 1.5x on ebay, 261EUR, I am waiting for the adapter to connect to my NIZO 3056. it has very tiny rear element, the rear thread is 24mm. so it can only be used on the long end of the zoom on Nizo 3056 which has 52mm filter thread. I am searching some other super...

Re: Sankyo CME 1100 repair

So it is 100% working now.
