That is what i used. My 880 needed lubing and was much better when it got some oil. Never wd40 ofcourse. Only later I got some grease from wittner for projectors but I dont think I used that on these machines.

This is, according to the Lossau_book Ricohs top model and "worth mentioning".

If you can turn the focusring on the lens past the line on the lensbarrel, then something is wrong.
The wide and the tele setting should both align with that line. twist to check. if they don't someone most likely took off the front lens element, but it wasn't reattached correct.
