Thank you for the answers

I'll send an email right away.

Shooting went well, but I don't expect any thing amazing from the replacement camera I used. It was hopefully a "minor" project, I hope the Beaulieu camera will be fine for my next project.

Cheers.

[Urgent] Serious problem with battery.

Hi there. I have a huge problem with my Beaulieu 6008S. Everything was set for my shooting tomorrow, and just when I was charging the battery, I realized the charger's red led was flashing. I then checked the camera to realize that the on-off knob was switched ON! It was of course not meant to be ON...

thanks for the answers.

Cards are black paper, bought from a store, and letters are painted in white. The titles will be shot outside.

Hope this helps.

Filming title-card/ mute cinema look.

Hi there :P , It's been more than two years since I haven't post on this forum, as I was away from both Internet and Super-8. I'm now happily back in business, and have a metering question. My problem is that I want to shoot title card, as I want my movie to look like a mute movie of the 20's. Title...

thanks

i was planning on doing some tests anyway, but i thought there might be some kinds of special gels to correct the colour temperature. i'll have some daylight through the window, so this should give me an acceptable colour temperature.

cheap lighting and colour temperature

hi all,

i'm about to get some of those halogen exterior lights to build a cheap lighting kit. my main concern is the colour temperature. Is there a way to correct it using gels, and where can i find them? I would like to avoid changing the bulbs, if possible.

totally useful but...

check this out, k40 lovers: http://users.cis.net/sammy/kodacrm.htm this would make a great soundtrack for a super8 short. oh, and i heard that eminem is gonna make a song called "ektachrome 7240" too, and britney's next single will be "dv, oh my dear dv, how could you let me down"...

super8 film available from kodak is silent. you have to record sound with something else than your camera, and sync it, with your computer or your projector. have a look here:

and here:

hi mattias

i saw those reviews on http://www.photographyreview.com

btw, what they're saying on this site may be wrong, because it's just customer's reviews, nothing professional at all.

light meters

i've just read reviews of light meters on the net, and the users were saying that cheap light meters always gave readings that were 2 or 3 stops away from high end meters. COnsidering the poor latitude of super8, such reading errors may kill a shoot. I suppose that most of you use those cheap meters...

i agree with you mattias. I just had a look on prices and if you want to have a decent sound, you need different mics that will suit to the different situations you'll meet during the shoot, and i don't think that any of us is ready to spend kilo-euros on mics, so i'm simply going to rent them. That...

and what kind of microphones do you use to record on you md? If the sound is not that good when uploading from a md to a pc, will a "good" micro really improve the quality?

thanks for the link, jessh. It seems that they have the md so booster was talking about for 150 euros were other places sell it for around 250-300 euros.
