Are there any SERIOUS B&H super8 camera collectors out t

MR ROSS---Until now I hadn't thought of myself as a B & H collector, but maybe I am. Over the last year or so I've been picking up components of the B & H Super 8 Filmosound 'double system' sound variety where the camera is connected to a B & H Filmosound cassette recorder which is later...

NIZO 6080-Fog film when eye not pressed against the eyepiece

Does anyone know if, when shooting with the remote and nobody's eye is pressed against the eyepiece, it has to be covered to prevent light leakage that will fog film? I know some camera eyepieces close automatically when rolling with no eye to it, and some have a little silde switch to block the lig...

NIZO 4080 BARNEY

GKAPLAN57---If we're talking about the same carftsman in California, I and another fellow had the first 2 Nizo 6080 barneys built by him. They are great. However, one caution. IP've never had a 4080 to compare with a 6080, and if what the other poster said about the difference in placement of contro...

B&H Filmosound Double system sync sound outfit???

A cable sync system, it came out during the '60s and was comprised of an 18fps camera, sync cassette recorder, and projector. So far, I've collected the camera and recorder, and keeping an eye peeled for a set of instructions and a matching projector. Not really sure I need the projector, as there m...

Does anyone know this repair shop?

If you contact them I'd be interested to know what you find out. I was considering them for repair of my 6080, but read more than a couple of references on the web, one saying that their Nizo repairman, a Mr. Cockerline was no longer with them, and another saying that he was, but was not working on ...

Nizo repair service recommendation?

I'm about ready to send the Nizo 6080 to someone to fix (if possible). Well, now it's two 6080s with malfunctioning lightmeter/aperture setting devices, as I picked up another one on Ebay recently that's beautiful, but ailing. I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with first hand experience with...

250 watt Xenon projector lamp?

Thanks for all the info, guys....Pedro, you're always several steps ahead!...Just shows how I'm crawling out of the Dark Ages. When I was shooting last, Xenon technology was still hot stuff. Any way I look at it, I think the Austin Cinemaker Co-op bunch is gonna have to sponsor a few car washes to p...

250 watt Xenon projector lamp?

 There is one theatre and one coffee house here in Austin that frequently screen Super 8 films with projectors that apparently aren't made to project over the distance of an average livingroom, resulting in very dark images on the screens. I know that one of them is an Elmo ST800. I think a co...

Well come on then!

Ok, O.U.B., I'm with you. The only thing I can think of right now is a compliment for Lee at Custom Upholstery Products, CUPCAMERA@aol.com, the man who dezigned and built the barney for my Nizo 6080 (with the blown meter). It exceeds my expectations in both function and form. The sound of the alread...

NIZO 6080 OVERRIDE QUESTION

Yes, you're right. I do expect componants and connections to deteriorate over time, and maybe I'm a little gullible to believe a man who tells me that he sells hundreds of these cameras a year, then writes, "The 6080 which comes for 500 usd + shiping (41 usd) is in better cons, than the set on ...

NIZO 6080 METER PROBLEM

I also have the metering problem with a 6080 I just got from a man in Germany, Dr. Peters/Alex/Ape101/www.super8cams.com/bonanzabike/etc who sold it to me as in new condition and just serviced with everything in perfect working order. So that we might work on this together, and not lose contact as t...

NIZO 6080 METER OVERRIDE QUESTION

WYATT---Would you mind emailing me off board so that we can compare notes? For instance, I'd like to know what you did to try to fix yours that didn't work, and what you plan to do now. I'm into this pretty deep and don't intend to let it drop. I really appreciate yours and everyone else's input on ...
