Re: Krasnogorsk K3 questions...
My second question is about the light meter. The camera came with a little brass battery adaptor. There is a battery in there but it is probably dead. I don't see any light meter needle at all in the viewfinder. Is this normal for a dead battery, or would I expect to see the needle at all? If I wan...

Re: Telecine Computer Set Up
Hi Nicholas, I went for the Panny in the end. The image quality was just more detailed. The colour isn't as good though and I kept the Canon as a backup incase the panny fails. It was so long ago I cannot actually remember the macro lens I went with. I think it was a Raynox but there is no indicati...

Re: Telecine Computer Set Up
hmm, or the other alternative is to use my hacked panasonic GH2 which can produce some really good HD video but I've not found the right lens set up to use with this camera yet.

Re: Telecine Computer Set Up
I'm sure a camera out there can indeed zoom in close enough with the optical zoom. The cam in the pictures is the Canon Legria HF200. It's 15x optical zoom just falls short. I've just purchased a Panasonic SD90 which has a 21x optical zoom. I know it has a wider lens though so I'll just have to wai...

Re: Digital super 8 cartridge
How come this April's Fool joke is still circulating? http://blog.nextfabstudio.com/weekly-staff-picks-april-1-2012 I mean, the photos of the cartridge are 3D renderings, not actual photos of the product. There is no video, even though on that site it is mentioned. There is no such sensor as the on...

Re: Digital super 8 cartridge
I think this gadget might be useful for rehearsing challenging shots, avoiding a waste of film and time. Agreed, I think this is a good thing for many reasons. Yes it could be used for rehearsing shots, getting a feel of a sequence and if you were carrying a tablet or something similar you could pr...

Re: Digital super 8 cartridge
I've commented on it elsewhere, but it hasn't been discussed here. Which is good that you posted because this link could use a few more comments from people who actually shoot S8. The site starts off by stating that S8 is dead or almost dead followed by a long string of comments made by fools who b...

Digital super 8 cartridge
Hi,
I know that this topic has been discussed before in this forum but it looks like it's become one step closer to reality.
Forgive me if this link has already been posted:

Re: Android forum app
Hi,
It's working great, when I click the notification in my email on my Android phone it opens a browser and prompts if I want to view it on the Tapatalk app, or install it.
My phone is quite small, now it's much easier to read posts, with this app rather than through a browser.
Thanks

Re: Kodak stops production of Ektachrome 100D
This is an unfortunate development but there are some shooters out there, myself included, who like to shoot on film for the process and beauty of the medium and not just to get the "super 8" look which is associated with k40 and reversal. so despite this announcement i think we should be ...

Re: Kodak stops production of Ektachrome 100D
Very frustrating, I was looking forward to getting into hand processing with this film myself.
What about Velvia 50D? is that still being manufactured? I see it's still sold on spectra and cinevia websites in super 8.
It's more expensive than 100D though...

Re: Telecine Computer
This RAID 0 requirement was discussed at length on the forum. Despite the incredible performance of modern machines it seems it is still needed. The need is caused by the method used to create and write thousands of files in Cinecap which collides with Windows handling things. You are generally rig...

Android forum app
Can I make a suggestion for the filmshooting site? I recently installed an android app for my Nexus 7 tablet called Tapatalk, it's an easy way to use forums on tablets and mobile phones. It would be great if Filmshooting was available to be used on the Tapatalk network and will also increase the web...

Re: Telecine Computer
Yes Granfer is quite right to point this out. Before buying, I emailed Blackmagic support to check if my motherboard worked with the intensity shuttle. They replied that it most likely did from the specs but they hadn't tested it so couldn't be sure. Luckily for me it worked. it all depended on whet...

Re: Telecine Computer
Hi Kevin, It seems your best option is to install win 7 32bit pro (you don't realy need ultimate) If Roger says this is the OS it works in for now. you can always do install a dual boot later on with 64bit windows or even just back up your files and simply reinstall as 64bit. Once you use 64bit wind...
