Who is still servicing Beaulieu these days?
Is there anyone worth their salt in the USA?

Summer Shooting Plans?
I guess this is another sort of 'what are you working on?'
Any plans to shoot this summer?
Nothing planned for me as I know I will be bogged down with some big life projects.
However, my goal is to regroup this coming fall/winter. I need to prep my gear and get my 4008ZMII overhauled. Then ...

Re: Nikon R10 filter
Why not just forget about the internal filter all together?
It is probably dirty, crusty and who knows what...
Just use screw on filters?

It is good to see you are still at it! I've been out of the loop for the last few years and a lot has changed. It is good to see that you are still making a go of it.
Keep it up.

Re: Beaulieu 4008 ZM light Meter issue
Don't bother fixing it. It has been a long time since I shot with my 4008ZMII but I rarely used the internal meter. The "Sunny 16 Rule" and my handheld meter is what I have always relied on.

Re: What have you been working on lately?
Well, outside of helping people get out of DUIs and fight orders of protection...I haven't been doing much at all.
After a long stint in Seattle and some soul searching I made the difficult choice to leave my career in Cinematography behind. I moved back to Montana and went to law school.

Re: Good Article
What I think is interesting about it is the concept of using limits to enhance your expression as a filmmaker. It is part of the reason why I have always enjoyed Super8 beyond Super8's look. The idea that Super8 forces me to work in certain ways is not stifling but rather freeing in some ways.

Re: Moviola help
Hope you get the Moviola up and running. They are beasts--In a good way I suppose. I just gave away a D-20 that I had been using at a hat/coat rack for the last 15 years. It was a great looking green machine. Hopefully she doesn't end up in the dump and the new owner gets her running again soon ...

Good Article
This article is pretty interesting. Who would have thought that perhaps there is a video analogy to Super8 in there too.
