Has it gone on sale yet?
I just saw the Vimeo clip, and I seriously want some!
If this were released a year ago, Wittnerchrome 200D would have left the market by now.

Re: No news from Ferrania is not good.
the 3rd summer since the kickstart has arrived. how is the new chiller going? I wish all ferrania-staffs have a good summer and merry chrismas and good easter, and good next summer and..... :D Ha ha ! But trying to be serious, it was obviously a huge undertaking with many unforseen problems. As far...

Re: Kodak 100D
True, but E100D had already been around for at least five years in 35mm and 16mm prior to the S8 version being released. I think the only reason we got it was that they had already stumbled twice with both 7240 and E64T by giving us two films that would end up improperly exposed in the majority of c...

Re: available film stocks?
Unfrotunately, no. Spectra long since discontinued V50D, and The Reel Image no longer lists Fuji 100D (or 200D) among the Super-8 stocks it sells. Right now the only stocks they sell are Wittner's Agfa 200D and Tri-X, although they've started listing the Ferrania Super-8 as "coming soon." ...

Re: Ferrania hope to start film manufacture in 2014
Are they serious? Scotch/Imation/Ferrania film was the absolute worst stuff in existence. They used to make film for the Albertson's/SavOn/Osco stores until they switched over to Konica, and then to Fuji. I remember shooting a roll of this stuff. Everything had this really sick puke-green cast to it...

Re: Your Agfa 200D results
I have yet to shoot any of the Agfa stock, but given the results I've seen, I'm not really impressed. I remember shooting the 35mm slide film it's based off of, RSX II 200, many years back, and I wasn't really a fan of it. Still, that was over ten years ago, and I have yet to give this stuff a try. ...

Re: My last E100D shots tend to be darker (processed by Dway
I did a test not too long ago, and I found that not only does it seem to tolerate overexposure more than underexposure, it can take a full stop of it. Admittedly, the end result is a little washed out, but still quite usable. For me, the sweet spot seems to be goosing it by 1/2-1/3 stop, same as the...

Re: Last S8 camera made.
I would have said the Canon AF 310XL and XL-S. Don't know much about that Zenit Quarz model. Good info. Tim The Quarz actually was sold by Pro8mm for a while as the Kinoflex. It was their entry-level camera before they started making the Pro814. If you've ever dealt with a 16mm K-3 before, you'll k...

Re: Spectra Velvia 50D discontinued?
I called them a while back--maybe a year or so--and they said that once they went through their batch of the original Velvia, they would be switching over to the reformulated stock. I can only assume that that's what they're working on now. But AFAIK, Spectra's still making both V50 and their versio...

Re: Help! I need a Pressure Plate for my K-3!
I know it's been ages since I started this, but I finally found a pressure plate this past August. Actually, it involved buying a dead K-3 body and cannibalizing the pressure plate--which is unfortunate because it had the M42 screw mount. I shot some stuff at a street fair this summer (the Village P...

Re: Andrew Blake Shooting 16mm
I found some very interesting behind-the-scenes footage of Erotic Andrew Blake who is one of few( maybe even the only) who shoots motion picture film in the Adult Industry. Even though Blake 's work is closer to high fashion as he takes his creative queues from photographers like Helmut Newton and ...

Re: Getting rid of Pro8mm outdated film
Thanks Wooda: I think I'll start with the 800T. I'm not expecting anything too great. I remember shooting a B&W roll of 800 ASA in the late 80's and although it was fresh film at the time it was really grainy. I've also read that the higher ASA films do not hold up well past their prime. But si...

It's a real shame. I only have one issue of "Super 8 Today," but I was very impressed. I feel bad that I didn't subscribe; it might still be around today.

Re: Crap 8mm Releases Vision 3
Apparently they must be doing something right, because they're still around. And I daresay that because they're still around, Super-8's still around--because if it were left up to Kodak, it'd have been dead and buried long ago. Having said that, something very bizarre happened with the footage I sen...

Re: Crap 8mm Releases Vision 3
Yep. Just ordered mine a few minutes ago. As lacking as Pro8mm may be in quality control, if it gets V3 into my grubby little hands, I'll deal with them, seeing as it took Kodak so long to give us V3 in Super-8 in the first place. I just won't send it through them for processing and/or transfer, tha...
