I just use Super Glue and it works great! I've never had a problem nor have I had a single splice go bad. It does take some practice but once you get the hang of it, pretty easy. I even splice free hand, which takes some practice ha.

I believe this is to make up for the battery he is using. It underexposes due to wrong voltage. Original mercury battery calls for 1.3V.

Oh sorry I guess that would have been good information to add LOL. I used Ektachrome 100D. Colors and saturation look great. I overexpose by 2/3 of stop when using this film.
