Photo-resistance batteries !
I have asked this question before in an earlier thread I think. I just received my Bolex S-1 8mm camera from Ebay, and am able to see what batteries it takes, although the 2 batteries in there now are working good. The manual says it takes a (mallory PX 1) 2 batteries. The batteries in there now say...

film speed and projector question ?
I have a quick question. If I use a camera that films at 16 fps will that play on a projector that is set at 18 fps ? I may be wrong here but I think my bell & Howell projector model 467 plays at 18 fps. I know that is it compatible for reg. 8 and S8, does this mean that is the speed for this pr...

I came across this lens on Ebay that I think may work, seems these older cameras may use a 46mm size. I probally should just wait till I actually get the camera. Here's the link to this #85 filter. http://cgi.ebay.com/TIFFEN-HCE-46-MM-85-CAMERA-FILTER-BARGAIN_W0QQitemZ3845802012QQcategoryZ30044QQssP...

reflex and non-reflex
This may sound like a stupid question, but what is the difference between a reflex lens and a non reflex lens ? The reason I ask is because today a won a Bolex S-1 8mm camera from ebay, and it says it comes with a reflex lens. These cameras don't have batteries do they ? it is a wind up spring loade...

A good bell & howell
What would be a good bell & howell 8mm camera, (one that uses double 8mm or regular 8mm) from say the early 60's, that would work well with kodaks cine chrome 40 tungsten film. I have a B&H from 1957 that i am going to try once my film gets here from dwaynes. many of you here have recommende...

I am new to this forum and in the process of learning how to shoot with regular 8mm film, and many of you here have helped me solve some issues with reg 8mm. I'm not an expert in any area of film shooting, but have picked up on a few things concering different filmstocks, so I thought I would post m...

ordered a density filter
last night I ordered a 0.3 neutral density filter to use on my bell & howell camera. I actually located a new one from a online source that sells filter lens for telescopes, but the lens is the same as you would use on a movie camera. The cool part is it has a housing around it that will proball...

So basically what you are saying is to put 2 filters on the front part of the lens housing ? and allow the camera to run at ASA 10 for outdoor as intended for this model ? what would happen if I just used the #85 filter ? and allowed the camera to run at ASA 10 ? my bell and howell also has a exposu...

so now what ?
Well it sounds as though i will not be able to use this camera with the new cine 40. Maybe what I might try just for the hell of it is to set the camera at ASA 16 and use a #85 filter and just see what comes out, that sucks because i just bought this camera from ebay and it is like new. I like the s...
